Marlinmate
Finished this up today. Original wood, and guides. Slapped on an immaculate Penn 3/0 from the collection and will put her next to lil brother I posted pics of a few days ago. White is Testors Model Paint. Got it as close to original as I could. one liner
Nice job of restoration - almost too pretty to fish with - but I hope you do. I had forgotten that brand name - my recollection is that is was a great rod - though undervalued at the time - great to see someone giving it the attention it deserves. canyondiver
Love it! I am amazed the butt cap hasn't denatured and turned to pudding, or cracked into a million little crumbs. Proud to be a NERB and I have the shirts to prove it!!
Marlinmate
Canyondiver... It is in pretty rough shape. It started out hard as a rock and I soaked it in Armorall for a few days and she is really pliable now.
Surfmaster250
I didn't think Montaque made fiberglass blanks I thought they only did bamboo. I wonder if that blank was made for them buy Conolon or Harnell. Anyhow, Great rod and nice job on it.
Charlie2
I have an old honey colored fiberglass Montague rod with two guides and a roller tip. You could shoot pool with it, if desired. My BIL has several, both bamboo and fiberglass. C2 Pay it Forward- George(Gowge) Pope RIP

I hope the Armorall keeps it pliable. Let me know what happens in a year or so please. Proud to be a NERB and I have the shirts to prove it!! Gollum
Wow. Another nice one. You're going to have to open a museum here soon! How we wish to catch a fish so juicy sweet.
