The Hairy Beast
Yeah, boy did I get lucky! Water is crystal clear in Winni anyway, but add brilliant sunshine and a bottom mercifully clear of Milfoil (the gravel looks like hammered gold), it all came together for that one shot. Plus I caught the fish - that always helps.... The Hairy Beast
I gave up on the suds the end of June. Crappy year this year. However, thanks to the rain I been popping salmon in Winni since mid September! It's been a fantastic fall in the lake and river. The Salmon are huge and plentiful. The Hairy Beast
Nice fish.......you sure thats not a Brown? Sure looks like one to me. They look very similar but there are no Browns in Lake Winnipesaukee. And when Browns get that big (granted, in this pic scale is hard to judge) Browns are a lot thicker in the middle. Don't be fooled by the color of the pic - I had to adjust it in Adobe - it was quite golden due to the water and sun. This is a male Landlock. The Hairy Beast
Thanks. I am not familiar with Lake Winnipesaukee. Our two foot Browns out west look exactly like your fish. It's a very common mistake. Here's a shot of him landed. They do look a LOT like browns. Here you can see how silver he is. The Hairy Beast
Thx - this is a salmon I caught wading the river in Alton NH two weeks ago - I hooked the video camera to my waders: 7hdamb3tmGg And a rainbow I picked up in the exact same spot last weekend, except I wasn't wading: 07mOGLn_1PA Quote:Originally Posted by RI PopperWell looks like your gonna have to make the gumbo with Berkly Gulp instead LOL
