Okay, pulling stuff together from the various threads.....we got less than a week to sort this out.

Seems most guys want South County (Westerly?) as the meeting place.....not that that would leave Newport out for fishing for those that want to go there. So, what ya think Tim? Can that be agreed upon?

The list I got for probable/possibles is:

TimS

Dubs

Steve In Mass

DanKing

RichSmith

BassBlitz

StriperCrazy\ nThrowingTimber

Oznavad

pisrfstr

Ant

MakoMike\ nStroth? (If he can pull himself away from the canal.... redface.gif )

FishEye

Eben (will be around)

Bespeck

Krispy

Striper77

Striper53 (he mentioned to me he was thinking about it)

Bassmaster, (swimming down from out east... tongue.gifwink.gif )

Obviously, that's a informal list, as chit happens, and some won't make it.

Now, the other thing, is you wanna do a BBQ or what? If so, we need a couple of grills, utensils to grill with, plates, forks, knives, napkins, and whoever wants to bring whatever for food and drinks. If it is agreed that we are gonna meet in Westerly, then we can do the BBQ at one of a few places.....the lovely ladies at Point 1/Atlantic Beach Casino Resort said we can use their spce, or we can go to Misquamicut State Beach, or I have one other idea (Tim, I'll e-mail to run THAT one by you).

So, if ya all want a BBQ, can we get some volunteers/commitments (you local guys, especially a grill or three) for the stuff above? If not, we can all just meet up somewhere at an appointed time.

My plan is to arrive early AM Saturday to see the sunrise, fish thru the day in Weekapaug, meet up at whatever/wherever we decide, maybe fish some more in the evening, and then head home.

So?.......

Steve,

If I'm around I'll be more than happy to help out with anything but the grills. Problem is that I'm having a hard time setting up bringing the boat accross on Friday. Weather is iffy, surveyor isn't sure, etc. etc. I'll PM you my phone number later in the week when I should have a better idea of when I can do something. Fisherman's memorial sounds like it might be a good spot. Do they have built in grills there?

You're going swimming...after we cut the rope smile.gif

Steve - I like your idea icon14.gif Let me know what he says smile.gif And tell him to make sure he's got some SuperStrike stuff smile.gif

I don't care whether we meet in South County or Newport for Friday's dinner - Saturday's breakfast - you guys that live there would probably be better informed to make that call - where and when for dinner and breakfast? I'm all ears smile.gif

Assuming I get my truck back tonight in working order I'll be in Westerly Thursday a.m. Any word on meeting locations etc. for Friday/Sat. I'll be computerless tomorrow. I don't want to have to start calling out in the darkness hoping for a reply back. wink.gif

I'm waiting to hear from Steve on the location of Saturday's meeting place. Presently, I'm thinking it's gonna be at Weekapaug B&T, right next to the Weekapaug Breachway - but Steve was going to confirm smile.gif

I don't know where to eat in the area guys - I was sort of hoping to hear from some folks on where we could meet Friday night for dinner and Saturday am for breakfast - anyone?

Tim,

Friday for dinner we could meet at the place where I met you guys before the cod fishing trip, I think the name was whalebone or something like that. Its right across the parking lot from the Frances fleet. Sat breakfast there's only one choice as far as I'm concerned, that's the Ocean Mist in Matunuk beach.

Just called Weekapaug B&T.....Charlie won't be in till after 4, so I'll have to call back....will let ya know as soon as I speak with him.

I also checked out Fisherman's Memorial, as someone had suggested......no BBQ facilities there unless you rent a camping site(s)....

Burlingame State Park has picnic areas with "firepits"......neither Misquamicut State Beach in Westerly, Charlestown State Beach, East Matanuck State Beach, or Wheeler State Beach (near Pt. Judith) have any grilling facilities, so unless we get someone to bring a grill (and at this point, that doesn't look too promising), those spots are out.

That's the best I could do.....so hopefully Charlie will give us the icon14.gif , as he has two grills there.....we would just need charcoal and lighter fluid....

As I said, will talk with him after 4 PM today.

As far as dinner Friday......you guys decide, as I won't be down till early Saturday Morning....

For breakfast Saturday, I'll probably be fishing thru it at a particular spot in Weekapaug so that is the area I'll be in,(especially if we get the icon14.gif from Weekapaug B&T), and as I said, unless you guys wanna meet at like 9 AM or so, I'll be fishing..... smile.gif

Last year, the guys seemed to like "The Restaurant" in Misquamicut, but again, your guys call on that.

Anyway, if Charlie says okay, who's bringing food, etc.???????? Chime in, guys!!!!!

Will be back at ya after I talk with Charlie.....
