Mike,

I think its amazing that you've been free handing all your plugs for 50 yrs, and haven't given

in to temptation, and bought a duplicator. Apart from making a great plug that catches, I think

it's extra special because it was turned by hand, and not with a vega

Free hand is the only way. Id rot in hell b4 i use a duplicator

I got some new goodies. I'll pace myself to keep the thread alive. I was finally able to convince Mike to open his stash a little for me.

I have a huge collection of Mikes stuff.

 Mike and I talk alot,

His plugs are always in my bag and truly the best builder I know.

He is the one who started the pike craze.

I think I have 80 of his plugs and blanks with notes on them.

One thing when you get a swimmer he made, it has been tested..

I admire that as i do the same thing.

We sometimes talk about the pick of the litter and I have a few but there is one slopehead , It is if God came down and blessed this plug.

I throw it but then get paranoid about loosing it, Its a great fish catcher.

I love his dannys  and have been enjoying them .   If you understand an atom 40 and how to fish one his are tops.

From fish on top to sub surface.

Truely a Master lure builder freehand turner.   Purest

For me when you turn a hunk of awc and hold ot in your hand and look at the grain and  get the feel of the plug and know where you want hook placement for that particular plug and weight.   It separates us apart from  the same body duplicate and weight.

Not knocking that but something to be said for freehand old time builders like some of us......

If you have Mikes plugs  you can bet you're ass they will swim.....
