Landlocked Salmon

11 posts in this topic

With all this rain, I am going to put off pike fishing this saturday and instead try something new. Im gonna launch my metal row boat over at Lake Aeroflex and try to get some salmon action. I know the lake pretty well and have done well there for trout and bass but have never gone for salmon. What kind of lures work best for spring when there cruising the shallower water? Will pheobes, mepps spinners, and little cleos work? I am also planning on having a pole out with a small shiner under a float.

Anyone have any luck going after them?

Thanks

Steve

Don't be afraid to use a small Kastmaster in blue silver, green or gold as well. Move it right along too the salmon can cruz. You should be able to find some with the shiners and that will give you a good place to start. Good Luck and post some pics!

I live relatively close by Areoflex but only ever fished it once with nothing to show for it. I planned on heading back this spring to give it a shot. If you go, good luck and let us know how you make out.
