I believe when the term "cloud" is used when referring to paint on a plug, it is a random mix of the darker color, say blue, and white. Pichney was famous for his blue cloud plugs, which came in three variations: dark, medium, and light, although as is the case with custom paintwork, there are probably some pretty unique examples out there. I collect Atom 40 swirls simply because they vary so much from one to another.

You can see examples of blue could Pichney's in the online Russ Bassdozer's article "Surf Plugology" and the Danny Pichney collection.

I believe what you would call your plug is "yellowhead," similar to the way "redhead" is used to describe a redhead/white body.

Interested to know what others think.

Yea, I know what you guys are talking about when you say 'cloud' now. Guess i was having a brain fart... That is a great write up by the way. It is much more like a 'yellow head' (similar to a red head) than a cloud. When I bought it years back it was supposedly only 1 of 2 he made or something like that but I never believe people when they say something like that (and I'm not really a collector).

Thanks. The deep cut cowboy senior must be rare? I've only seen two, yours and the one I have.

Steve I have only seen 3 in my time so they are rare but they catch fish..
