..so I am new to the area, and am trying to get around and look at fishing spots in the Stonington area, the best I can with my one good leg and glass eye....

..my question is, what are your favorite early season plugs for bass???

also- I have never seen the Polish Sand eel before- nice finish- any good?

thanks, and God bless you...

90% of the time in the spring I'm throwing rubber shads of some sort or little twister tails on small jig heads - worked across the bottom slowly at or near the bigger river mouths icon14.gif

Actually, I was most impressed with your ability wade across 1/2 mile of 50 degree water up to the ole twig and berries with only a pair of shorts and sandals... biggrin.gifbiggrin.gif

I did it again there last night, except the water was colder and I took my shoes off to keep them dry. I learned 3 things: the tide comes in faster than you think, 38 degree water is noticeably colder than 50 degree water, and oyster shells + bare feet = hurt.

Dude waders were invented for warmth and dryness not for their stylish design. confused.gif If I were to hit it I would head upriver, fish deep, and slow..
