Northern Jersey Charter?

Rate this topic

7 posts in this topic

I have been driving a group of non-salt water fisherman to NJ for the past few years to fish in Atlantic Highlands from Akron, Ohio (read: 8 hour drive). The usual charter is booked and the substitute recommended by the captain is now pulled from the water. We will have 10 to 20 people looking for a 4-6 hour trip starting Saturday at 1600 if possible, sometime in May or June. (we have to drive home the next day with lots of fishwink.gif ) Any recommendations would be appreciated!! Pawlie

Should be a few boats in the Atl Highlands that will do charters...MiJo, Lucky Charm, Capt Dave, etc. Some are strictly charter, others will run open when they don't have a booked trip.

There's also the Misty Morn in Morgan, Pioneer in Jersey City, maybe Freddy C out of Leonardo.

Pawlie,

My wife and I are Akron natives. I did my early fishing on the Portage lakes and a little on the mighty Cuyahoga head waters. I hit the usual farm ponds as a little kid with gramps. Where do you fish there? Where do you guys stay in New Jersey after your trip? I've made the drive many times and can't imagine driving out then jumping on a boat. Good luck this spring. John

Hey fishface!

My boy and I love to fish for bluegills and crappies on Turkeyfoot! I grew up on Long Island about half way out on the North shore and miss the salt water terribly (I've been here 10 years and 5years a few years before that). We think it is a great place to live and raise a family and I'd bet that our rent (or mortgage) is somewhat less than yours! wink.gif We leave at 0600 to fish from 1600-2200 in Atlantic Highlands. Anyway, I'll see if I can mail you some "Barberton chicken" Thanks for your help and don't forget to catch some for me!
