because some of the 47 towns dont want public access they wont get any sand. so you'll have beaches sticking out 50+ yards further into the ocean connected to eroded beaches. rich people would rather have the atlantic in their living room than share space with the great unwashed. which is totally cool icon14.gif people are that awesome. i just wonder how long it will take for ma nature to even it all out and where exactly all that sand will get deposited and create shoals.

just imaging the rip current that's going to form in that bowl where the new beach juts out. cwm31.gif

I would add that that may be a go to spot this spring wink.gif

Also imaging all that sand returning to where it came from over the next few years- What a waste of money. mad.gif

I think the longshore transport is south to north there, and alot of it will end up at the mouth of Barneget Inlet probably as well. Then they will have to dredge that every six months like the Shark River. cwm27.gif

Looking at the photos to me it looks like a nice current already heading south on the beach into that bowl and then out to sea.

Let it rip for awhile and fast forward to this summer- I'm seeing lots of rescues in that area.

fast forward to this spring and I'm seeing a feeding frenzy just off the tip of the new sand wink.gif

Either way that rip will be pulling alot of sand out of there not only what they just pumped but what is pre existing from the north- The engineers who thought of doing this should have their credentials taken away. rolleyes.gif

That's if the new sand survives tomorrow's Northeaster which is suppose to have some serious beach erosion headscratch.gif

The more things change, huh?

WOW, I know where I will be this spring....anywhere but there.

Consider that spot burnt crispy black.
