No comparison...deer will jump out at you in split second..dart in front of you...sometimes the crash into the side of your car. You got to be a careless idiot to hit a seal with your car, senile, or just an a-hole. Senile is the only one that gets a pass. They move on land like a big slug.

Seal shooter sought

 

 

Police and the New England Aquarium are looking for the public"™s help in determining who might have shot a young harp seal with a shotgun.

The yearling was found dead Saturday on Scusset Beach in Sandwich, according to a spokesman for the aquarium. Aquarium officials determined it had been shot when a pellet fell out during a necropsy of the seal, spokesman Tony LaCasse said.

 

 

"We"™re seeking the public"™s help on who shot the animal," LaCasse said. Even though the seal was shot, LaCasse said it wasn"™t the direct cause of death.

Several weeks earlier, the seal had been hanging out near a state boat ramp behind the East Bay Grille restaurant in Plymouth. "A lot of people were coming by to see him," LaCasse said. Aquarium officials moved him to another area off the coast of Plymouth where seals are more commonly seen. Aquarium officials believe the seal may have been shot about a week before it was found. "We don"™t know when exactly he was shot," LaCasse said.

Sounds like an accident to me.

Who would want to hit anything?

If you ever hit a porkupine,dog,raccoon,deer or whatever,you know its not much of a sport.

If an 18 wheeler is passing me and they see a pup anything suddenly at the last sec,I sure hope they maintain a steady course instead of trying to protect that species.
