Would I be better off

Would I be better off using the sinkers with the antenna type prongs instead of a pyramid type one?

I have heard that they hold the bottom better, which would allow me to throw a lighter weight.

Some guys like to keep their bait steady and a "wired" lead is good for that. Lighter weights will hold. I like my rig to slide a bit so I use pyramid or hatteras sinkers. Gonna try the frog toungs this spring too.

You might need the extra weight to help get your bait out past the bar.

I always keep an assortment of weights 4's, 6's, 8's, ect.

What might hold on an out going tide may not hold and an incomming tide.
