Cleaning Old MirrOlures?

5 posts in this topic

I was given my uncles old tackle box after he passed a while back. While looking thru it again, I noticed some white powdery looking stuff on some older mirrOlures. Any hints on cleaning these up?

Also, found a few old River runts with worm melt on them. Will Goo Gone wipe out the paint on those? If so, what is recommended to clean up those. Thanks!

Dish soap and water usually will work for the white stuff, for worm burns I just throw them out and use it as an excuse to buy more stuffbiggrin.gif

Just refreshed some Redfins from about 30 yrs ago and used a little Alcohol (Rubbing) to take off all the Nicotine and other dirt just watch the top paint rub too hard and it will come off.

just use soap and water that will take it right off with a little bit of scrubing. i have cleaned litteraly hundreds of these lures this way. i have been a collector for years. what else did you find for old lures in the tackle box?
