The lower hose on my power steering went on my jeep.Is that the return hose or the pressure hose? I don't want to get the wrong one

presure hoses will have steel ends and most return hoses will have a simple clamp in most cases

I forget which one the lower one is, but as stated by FredAtCousins, the high pressure one has metal fittings and is much more beefy looking than the return hose.

 

I just replaced the PS pump and both hoses on my '88 XJ last summer... the return hose is nothing more than a piece of rubber hose cut to length and clamped at both ends.

Thanks.The return hose is the one that went ,But i am gonna replace both anyway.
