mml4
Ron & Ditch- Thanks for the clarification. My favorite rod for larger bucktails, big rubber, and large eels. jfbasser
I have an original and a new XSRA 1205. The blanks are the same, altho for reasons unclear to me, Lami changed the rating from 1 to 5-1/2 oz to 1-4 on the finished rods--yet they kept the 1 to 5-1/2 on the blank Seems like something a "corporate rod barrister" would recommend and will the 1205 be called the Twelve-O-Five or the One twenty.......Five? Ron Arra
The correct rating for the XRA 1205 is 1 to 4oz lures. We are trying to get as close to optimum lure weight performance for each rod. Thanks for your patience, understanding the changes and important product input.

StriperHunter211
Oh that’s great. Iam looking at the the 1205 for spinning gear. What I’ve heard on this rod is that everybody loves it it was really between this rod and a GSB but I’m leaning towards the Ron.
Ditch Jigger
That and the GSB 120 1M are probably the most versatile Lamiglas rods that I ever used. But once I got the 1205, the 1M started to gather dust. It's more of a 2-5 oz rod, 1 oz isn't ideal. Mine was wrapped conventional, and I paired it with a Penn 525 Mag. You could fish all night without tiring with that setup. "…if catching fish is your only objective, you are either new to the game or too narrowly focused on measurable results.” - D. I thought that Ron ended his association with Lamiglas, but maybe they still offer the blanks under a different model name?? LowEnd
They were changed to “surf pro” after Ron jumped to another company which did not play out. Believe no longer in production for several years now.

StriperHunter211
Yes no longer makes the rods. But the tackle store near me has some and I am leaning towards getting one of the rods.
