RayG
Does anyone know if Lamiglas has any plans to make a 2pc. version of the Arra 1205 in the not too distant future? Looking for a 10 foot version of the 1084-2. Ray Ray
Ron Arra
Ray G, New on the upcoming factory rod agenda is a two piece XSRA 1204-2 10' and a XCRA 1205 10' one piece conventional. Best Wishes For The New year
Ditch Jigger
Does anyone know if Lamiglas has any plans to make a 2pc. version of the Arra 1205 in the not too distant future? Looking for a 10 foot version of the 1084-2. Ray The 10 foot version of the 1084 is the 1204, not the 1205. Two piece blanks should be available now. levari
Ditch, I think the 1205 is closer to the 1084 than 1204. Perhaps Ron can comment on it.
Ditch Jigger
Not to me--I find that the 1205, when built, is a fairly parabolic blank, while the 1084 and 1204 are fast taper blanks. I have 2 factory spinners and a custom conventional on that blank. Both the 1084 and 1204 have a size 7 tip--the 1205 has a size 12. ex-Googan
Still curious if there are any plans for 2-piece 1205. Ron's reply re 1204 would lead me to guess no, but would like to know for sure before looking elsewhere. I'm looking for a 10-ft spinner to throw 2-4 oz. Ron Arra
ex-Googan, It appears Lamiglas will not have an XRA 1205 10' in two piece offered for retail. Sorry maybe in the near future.
ex-Googan
Thanks Ron. It's great to be able to go right to the source. May have to step up to 1322 (though I really don't need 11' for plugs). Got a 1083 for light plugs last yr and like it so much I think I'd rather compromise on length than brand. Ron Arra
Hey Guys, The latest information on the new "Ron Arra Surf Pro Rod" XCRA 1205 10' conventional .... I just got off the phone with the Lamiglas poduct production manager and he said all tackle retailers can now order the new XCRA 1205 one piece now and will receive the order in 3 weeks. This is the only factory conventional model in the Ron Arra signature series that will be offered. As most of you know the 1205 has a reputation for being a great all around surf rod. mml4
Ron-I have a factory wrapped 1205 Conventional that I bought about 5 years ago. By the yellowing on the factory tag when purchased it may have been old stock at that time. Is there a dramatic difference between that blank and the new one? Ron Arra
mm14, There has not been any changes to the XRA 1205 blank in my knowledge. We are currently staying with the one piece design 1205.
Ditch Jigger
I have an original and a new XSRA 1205. The blanks are the same, altho for reasons unclear to me, Lami changed the rating from 1 to 5-1/2 oz to 1-4 on the finished rods--yet they kept the 1 to 5-1/2 on the blank The other difference is the number and quality of the guides. The old XSRA had 4 Pac Bay guides spaced poorly. The new ones have 5 Fuji guides. They're oxide Fujis, not Hardaloy, but at least they're Fujis.
