Abu anti reversse question.

I took my c3ctmag out today, and it was casting like a dream, tanks to the help from some of you guys. What did happen with it, two times the anti-reverse slipped for a split second. I don't know how this happens or if there is an adjustment I can make on it, but if you could help me figure it out, it would be great.

I don't know if I need to return it or adjust it.

Thanks

Along with oil/grease contamination, cold temperatures can also cause/exacerbate this. It seems the fine plastic "fingers" that retain the rollers get stiff and the rollers don't move out properly. I'm sure thickened oil and grease in this area only makes it worse.

As mentioned, clean and reassemble w/o lubricant in the bearing.

Good luck,

SS

I believe even in warmer climes, oil and grease ****** the free shifting movement of the rollers. I think some makers actually do warn against lubrication, and instruct that the bearing remain "dry".

One or more of my reels will have an intermittent click while turning the handle when the IAR bearing is contaminated. Cleaning the IAR bearing takes care of the issue.

The glue bead was from a post where I suggested a repair:
