Angler #1
Last week saw an influx of large fish being caught in the ditch. At least to my knowledge 5 fish were taken over 30 pounds in and around the ditch last week. One lucky soul got into a 39 pound fish. Most of the fish were caught on live herring and one was on whole squid. We could have a banner year if they stay around, but the 35 -36 inch fish seem to be missing from the catches. BTancrell
I hate to say it but I think the reason there aren't any 35-36" fish is because of the 28" law that was in effect a couple years ago. Just a thought, Brian
J Powers
I'm thinking of moving to the canal permenantly for the next couple of weeks. The wife also thinks it would be a good idea - seems to think I only come home to sleep... briefly. Got my 104th fish Sat morn. Now as to size, it's probably just that me and the guys have been hitting it lucky, but most of the fish are 32" - 36". A lot of 20 +/- #ers and a couple 25#ers. Location ? All I can suggest is to stay far away from the crowded areas. It's actually been a lot more productive this year. Live, dead or bucktails seem, to be working equally well - also a surprising developement.
