Question for the Slammer III owners. I have a 4500 and have only fished it a few times for a couple hours total. The reel has never felt right while under load. I primarily throw 3/4-2oz. lures with it and when reeling under load I have a very rhythmic knock/vibration and stutter sound. You can also feel this sound. It is worse the faster you retrieve and if reeling super super slow you can’t really notice it at all. Reeling in a 2oz. buck tail though at a decent retrieve speed will be very very noticeable. The sound and feel I can best relate to would be driving on railroad track timber’s or running a stick or pipe down a fence row. It’s very duh duh duh duh duh sounding and feeling. Think drumroll type of cadence. Off the rod and under no load the reel feels very smooth and silent other than some slight play in the handle knob. Any thoughts? I’ve heard in the past people having issues with similar symptoms. Someone mentioned a possible bad bearing? My reel was purchased new a couple months ago but is an older stock with a 2017 manufactured date.

anyone have any expierence with odm warranty...my 9ft genesis snapped last night after only a few uses, and it was NOT highsticked or handled roughly..simply throwing bucktail it was rated for...My phone call with there rep left me with no real options other than purchasing an 80$ top section.. is that par for the course?

I like lincoln 140c. Harbor freight has titanium with infinite adjustment on voltage and speed. Harbor freight has additional charge for 2 year protection plan. Anyone have any experience with warranty/protection plan on either one?

Hello all. I am hoping this reaches the Penn rep himself "Penn". I purchased a spinfisher vi 8500Live liner model from an Australian tackle seller. * They have over 10K great reviews and seem like an honest reliable seller. I received my spinfisher reel and when i opened it and began spinning and inspecting it i could feel a slight ticking sensation and hear a wobble/tick noise coming from the reel. Something did not feel right. I released the drag and took the spool off to find the rotor cap busted, 2/3 screws stripped, and a greasy fingerprint as well as grease shoved into a little hole on the bail assembly (pics attached). There is doubt in my mind that this thing was assembled properly. The seller has agreed that something is definitely wrong and would like to amend the issue. He says the item is eligible for the same 1 year warranty as all penn products and would reimburse my shipping to penn. My concern is that because this is an item through ebay that this may not be the case. If this is still covered can you advise me as to how best provide proof of purchase? (specifically what do i need screenshots of?). Also would i be responsible for paying for anything other than the shipping TO the headquarters in PA? Best, Daniel

Hi, I broke the tip of my TFO rod and I was wondering if anyone replaced their rod with the warranty and how did you do it? I purchased my rod from Tomos tackle in salem, MA and I still have the receipt. Can I just go back to Tomos tackle show the receipt and get a replacement or do I have to go through TFO customer service? any feedback would help. thanks!

Now, I don't own a Van Staal and don't plan on buying one for a long time. But, I thought I read somewhere that you had to pay VS $50 a year to maintain your service/warranty even if you don't want your reel serviced that year. Is this true? If so, it's almost like them taxing you to own one of their reels. If it is true, IMO you have to be an idiot to buy one.
