  1. A friend asked me to help him sell his VR175 so he can fund another purchase. The reel is very seldom used. He picked it up mainly for plugging at the ditch, but he's hardly been there in the past 3yrs, believe its been out 5 times or so, and in storage for at least the last year. It's been converted to bailess. As of now, no box, no tool accessory, and no bailwire, only reel and reel bag. Has not been sent in for service for the amount of time it's actually been used. Only blemish is a little knick on the handle from the canal rocks. I've attached a pic of it best I could. $400 cash local Danvers, MA pickup or meetup around the North Shore. $420 shipped, PayPal. Thanks for looking.
  2. I have a VR175 i bought here, it was bail less And in great condition when i bought it. I accidentally stripped the T9 torx screw while trying to reinstall the bail. Also, i opened it up just to check out the guts and see what makes it tick, when I tried putting it back together the gears started grinding, and im tired of trying to fix it, so if your good at fixing/working on reels (which I am not), Ill let it go for $225 shipped and delivered to the continental states. Will accept cash or entertain trades of some sort. Im sure you have questions so ask away.
  3. Van Staal VR 175 Silver. Like new in box complete. Not a mark on it that I can see. Test cast only, no fish. Loaded with 40# PP SS V2. $500 shipped with payment via PayPal.
  4. If anyone has a 200 or 175 they don't need i'd be interested. Thanks!
  5. Looking to sell my Vr175 purchased here. Original thread attached, reel is in the exact condition it was purchased. Had gotten into the kayak game and the reel went unused. Box, bailless kit, and 300yd pp included. 435 to your door. https://www.stripersonline.com/surftalk/topic/675311-wts-mint-vr-175/
  6. Ive seens the threads but its almost unimaginable how a 500+$ reel squeaks. van staals answer was to send it in. Now thats annoying. So when i pull the spool off it still squeaks. What kind of gear oil or lubricant can i put on tha shaft to help this out. Squeaks on slow retrieve. Thx
  7. For sale: Van Staal VR175, used sparingly for a season. By my estimate, under 10 times. $430 shipped PayPal. Spooled with close to 400yds of 50lb Power Pro Maxcuatro. It has been converted to the bailess. Conversion back to bail is included in the box. Minor rock rash from the canal from setting the reel down, but works like new. I just don't see myself fishing this reel much anymore at all. Thanks for looking.
