Building a blackhole 450 conventional for jigging large bluefin East of the Cape. I'll likely fish it with a Talica 20 or Torque 40 with 80-100lb hollow. Debating between Fuji MN SiC, Fuji HB SiC, or Fuji HN SiN guides. Biggest question is will the MN's hole up to 30-35lbs of drag? They are the lightest option. The HB's are huge, but I certainly wouldn't have any concerns with guide failure. If the HN's came in SiC they would be a good middle ground. Any thoughts welcomed! Mike

I am building a tuna jigging rod using a black hole one piece 5'8 blank, and I can't decide on handle lengths for it butt and fore grips. Does anyone have any suggestions to lengths based on experiences? I figured a shorter, like 10-12in, and a decent fore grip, like 8in. Thanks in advance!

Has anyone successfully used cork split grips on a parabolic jigging rod like a blackhole 350/450? Going to be building a 350 as a spinning rod with MN guides and was thinking about cork but worried about cracking.

I’m looking for my first tuna rod and reel for party boat chunking. I was thinking a Penn Fathom 2 speed in 30 or 40NLD spooled with 80lb braid. Paired with a Saint Croix Mojo Salt 7’ HF rated for 65-100lb braid, a Shimano Tallus, or a dark matter HK. Maybe a Kevin Bogan rod if it’s worth the extra $. I don’t want to be undergunned in case I hook a large fish but also don’t want overkill. Budget around $700 for rod and reel. Thoughts?

2012 Parker 21 SE $31,900 located in Massachusetts Boat is in a slip on the Merrimack River in Salisbury, MA until mid October and available for sea trials for serious buyers. Awesome boat that I'm reluctantly selling because I recently bought a used Parker 25 SE. Oil changed every 100 hours religiously, all maintenance done at recommended intervals. 2012 Parker 21SE 2012 Yamaha 150HP 4 stroke outboard with 1266 hours 2012 Road King dual axel trailer with guide rails in good working condition 12” Raymarine C120 fish finder/GPS combo (flush mount in dash) Trim tabs which auto retract when motor is shut off VHF Radio 9 flush mount rod holders in gunnel including 3 swivel rod holders with backing plates 7 rod holders on leading post 4 rod holders on side of console 2 rod holders under gunnel that also fit gaffs/harpoons/etc 32 gallon live well built into leaning post with works extremely well and can keep a day’s worth of mackerel or pogies alive without issue. Decent amount of dry storage inside console with rack to organize 94qt white igloo cooler with matching seat cushion mounted in front of console (in lieu of blue RTIC 110 in pictures). Bow casting platform with like new cushion (always stored inside and never used on boat)

So this summer I want to start going 15-30 miles off Montauk for tuna, mostly popping and jigging with spinning, occasionally trolling those small Hogy lures. I want a combo for around $500. I want the rod to be a 1 piece. I will be targeting primarily small to mid-size bluefin, with the possibility of a bigger one. Right now I'm thinking of a pen slammer 10500, with a pen carnage boat spinning 50 - 100#. Any ideas?

Okuma Azores 90S, spooled with I believe 100lb PP braid and 100lb mono top shot. Upgraded carbon drag washers, Gomexus knob. Light scratches from hooks or boat. Never caught a fish on it. Used as a back up. $100 shipped. Think I have the box somewhere still. Star Aerial Jigging Rod, used but in great condition. Hook holder bent up as it gets in the way while jigging. Landed a number of 50-80lb yellowfin last weekend no problem. Just want something with a bit more lifting power and length for my style. $75 pick up preferred but have a tube. Add $10 for shipping. Looking to buy a spin setup for Tuna off the Cape. What do you have? Thanks!

Brand new, never used. Never got chance to use it for tuna. Sting-O 7'6" tuna popping rod. Or just a heavy jetty stick. Great parabolic power. Casts 2 to 4~5 oz. 2 piece rod. Butt grip, aluminum reel seat with locks. Old but nice video showing same model lineup rod under load. https://youtu.be/TQjFppVUYW0 Manufacturer's video, weird music warning. Lower your volume before clicking. I remember it cost like $200?? back then which was a superb deal for a strong popping rod. That normally starts from $400 up to $1500+. Was a TD exclusive licensed product. So only they had it. $120 should be reasonable. Pick up only. Located in Brooklyn, NY.

Penn Intl II 50 TW cosmetic boat rash no cracks, all functions work as they should. Custom built quality rod no markings except guides and butt 5' white blank wrapped in black and red gold, looks to be about a 130 class. Aftco guides all turning with removable Pacific Bay Alum butt. The rod is cosmetically excellent. $450 cash and carry, new Bedford pickup no offers at this time, will not separate. See Photos. Was at CMS yesterday, the similar rods 400 to 500+. Will run about a week here first then to Craigs. Thank You

I have a pair of 50-130 Fishermans Outfiter stand up tuna rods for sale for $500. The price is firm. They are constructed with 5’6″ Black E-Glass Blanks, 14″ EVA Foregrips and 12″ Butt-Section. They feature Aftco Heavy-Duty Roller Guides throughout and a detachable Aluminum Butt-Section for longevity and ease of storage. Bent aluminum butts can be purchased and installed as well. All Guides are Double-Under then Double-Over Wrapped with the Highest-Quality threads and epoxies for strength and durability. These are two badass standup rods built by one of the best tuna shops in the North East. Will ship, but would prefer to exchange in person. Currently located in Gloucester or Boston.

I just jumped on the baitcasting bandwagon. I ordered a LEXA HD 400 7.1:1. I haven't used a baitcaster in a looong time, but WTH, right? I do most of my fishing on jetties, almost never use bait and most stuff I throw is under 3oz. like everyone else. I'm looking for a plugging/BT/Tins rod under $200 to learn with that will be able to get distance and handle the load. Has to be 2 piece. Has to be under $200. Is anyone plugging and distance casting with these reels? Also, what pound test.should I be spooling the reel with, I'm also getting a boat rod to maybe fish for tuna.

I'm going to have one or two swivel rod holders for bent butt tuna rods installed in 26' fiberglass center console. What is the best way to anchor then soundly? Do anyone make one that can be locked so it can't swivel when you want that option? Thanks for any help you can give me!
