Its been close to a year since the salt x came out and people were saying time will tell if its good. So is the reel proven to last up a long time with going out about 15 times a month, washed after every trip, being dunked uncommonly, and not reeled underwater.

Hey everybody! As I was wondering my local Walmart I saw an interesting item. A reel that looks suspiciously similar to a tsunami shield. Upon further inspection it has the same amount of seals and used the same proprietary tool as the shield. I love my shield and these reels are half the price. Does anyone have any experience with the Ozark trail branded saltwater reel?

Tsunami Trophy Series jigging 6’6” casting model - rated to 4.5 but can easily take 10oz of lead. Used about 6 times. I just can’t get used to conventional so sticking with spinning gear on the boat. Retail is around $120. Asking $75 Tsunami conventional 7’- rated to 4 but again, can take 10 oz of lead. Used this one maybe 3 times. I think retail is around $75. Asking $50 Dark Matter 7’ spinning rod - rated 1-4. Used a couple times but I have too many rods in this range. On sale right now for $129 at J and H. I was at WallyWorld an found this interesting Tsunami reel. It's called the Barrier II, and looks just like my Tsunami Shield with 7 seals at 1/3 the price. We'll see how it runs when I can get to the water. Also thanks to CLfish5 for the great deal on the St. Croix Tidemaster.
