  1. Has anyone had any issues with the Tsunami Evicts? I am looking for a 3000 size reel for my 7' Tsunami Carbon Shield and have seen a number of guys pair it with the Evict.
  2. Used once at the pier. No fish fought. 7’ MH model. $80 picked up Queens/Nassau
  3. 6’8 heavy model Brand new. Awesome fluke/bass rod. $100 picked up Queens/Nassau
  4. Hello all, Thanks in advance for any comments or opinions. I’m in the market for a new “all around beach rod” for fishing all around Cape Cod and Massachusetts south shore area. The terrain is mostly sand/gravel beaches w a few boulders here/there and usual tidal current. Target is stripers and blues mostly. Throwing all the usuals, hard plastics like SP minnows, Redfins, Yo Zuri minnows...etc, Danny’s, darters, soft plastics like sluggos, paddle tails and some tins, and bucktail jigs. All ranging in weight from 1 oz to maybe 2.75 oz ish. My reel is a Shimano Ultegra Ci4 5500 carbon frame, 15 oz, spooled w 30 lb pp. My rod choices include the following 2 piece rods, in “order of ranking” (just my best guess opinion) 1. Shimano Tirelejo 9’-6”, 3/4–3 oz..................$300 2. Tsunami Saltx 9’-6”, 3/4–3 oz.......................$280 3. Lamiglas GSB Skinner2 9’-2”, 3/4–3 oz........$400 4. Tsunami Elite 9’-6”, 3/4–3 oz........................$200 Does anyone own any of these rods and feel my ranking is “not accurate”.....which would be your choice for my intended use? Thanks again for any first hand experience with these rods. Rob
  5. Brand new. Tags and plastic still attached. 7’ MH model. $100 picked up Queens/Nassau
  6. I think it's finally time to downsize, at least for the time being, and sell some of my seldom used gear. I have a lot of nice stuff that's sitting and collecting dust. I justify holding on to most of it by telling myself I'll find a use for them "next season", and a few seasons later most of it has not left the rod rack. **Prices are for local meet-up (South Jersey near/around 08234), not currently looking to ship at this time.** **Pictures to follow, I'll try to get them up within the next couple of days** NRX Inshore 883S MR (MSRP $665) 7'4" MH Fast, 3/16-3/4 oz lure, 15-40 lb line - $370 - Used, great condition. Original guides, cork shows some wear. I used this rod mostly fluking from shore on the sod banks. Recently picked up 9'6" Dialuna for that application. And the 7'4" rod length is just a tad bit longer than I prefer for the yak. G. Loomis GLX 844C MBR (MSRP $455) 7'0" H Fast, 1/4-1 oz lure, 12-20 lb line - $300 - Brand New, sticker still on cork handle. Versatile freshwater rod, do-all rod for everything in it rated lure range. Would make a great back bay, light tackle fluke jigging rod as well. St Croix Legend Tournament Inshore LTIS70MLF (MSRP $300) 7'0" ML Fast, 1/8-1/2 oz lure, 6-12 lb ine - $200 - Brand New, tags removed. Came on one kayak ride, but never left the crate. This would excel throwing lighter lures in shallower water and can double as a freshwater rod. It overlaps with a couple other rods that I use more frequently so unfortunately it never leaves the house. Dobyns Champion XP DC 685CB (MSRP $230) 6'8" MH ModFast, 1/4-1 oz, 8-17 lb line - $100 - Bought lightly used from a buddy of mine. I was intending to use this for crank baits, top waters, and other moving baits that would benefit from a more moderate taper. I realized I don't utilize those techniques enough to warrant a specific rod for that those applications. Got a good deal on it from him so I'm passing along the savings. Phenix Feather FTX 73XH (MSRP $170) 7'3 XH Extra Fast, 1/2-3 oz, 15-35 lb line - $90 - Like new condition. I bought this a couple seasons ago to fish jigs while pond hopping local freshwater spots. I haven't gone freshwater fishing in a long time. Held on to it thinking maybe I can use it to jig tog, but I've learned that I prefer spinning rods for that application. Researching this rod, the consensus is that it's overrated per Phenix's ratings. 3 oz is very generous for a casting lure weight, and it is more of a "fast" action rod than the listed 'x-fast'. Tsunami Airwave Elite TSAWESS-962M (MSRP $195) 9'6" M, 3/4-3 oz, 15-30 lb line - SOLD to SOL member with WTB thread - This rod is used and is missing about 1" from the tip. I DIYed the tip so it doesn't look the prettiest but it is fully functional.
  7. Its been close to a year since the salt x came out and people were saying time will tell if its good. So is the reel proven to last up a long time with going out about 15 times a month, washed after every trip, being dunked uncommonly, and not reeled underwater.
  8. Hi, I am looking for a used Airwave Elite 9'6" shipped (tried locally and no biters- zip 11225). If rod have broken guides, or lost a bit of the tip, but the blank is sound I am also interested. If you have one please post the condition and price. I can pay through PP. Thank you for looking
  9. Hi there, I'm looking for a both the Airwave Elite 8'8" 1/2-2 oz and 9'6" 3/4- 3 oz rods. I am interested rods in all conditions as long as they are structurally sound and nothing major going on. If you have some with guides that need replacing or repairs, also shoot me a price. Pick up near Brooklyn would be ideal but shipping can work. I can travel to the 5 boroughs and a bit into LI if needed. Thanks for looking and tight lines
  10. Anyone want this? $50 picked up*. Paypal only- till this health crisis dies down at least. Its a fully sterilized Tsunami Trophy paired with a Diawa BG 4500. Description: Tsunami Trophy: It was 10 feet, but I high sticked it and now its 9' 8" (I had the tip top replaced). I stripped off the reel seat, replaced the cork, and moved the reel up a few inches with self fusing tape. It's a solid connection. Daiwa BG 4500 : It's Pretty geary after 3 years, but its still perfectly usable, I just cleaned and re lubricated everything I Pulled out the back up AR as the spring wire would consistently pop off for some reason while in use. This has no affect on the reels function, less the AR bearing were to some reason fail. Thanks. Stay safe out there.

  14. My reel is Tsunami Shield 8000. I want to open the body case like the add picture. The part number is 024 in the part list. I used the tool(black) and turn the case to left. But can not. How can i open it? I really used a lot of power. So, the tool is bent. Please help me. Thank you.
  15. Hi SOL, I recently purchased the 9'6" version of the Airwave Elite and I'm looking for your recommendation on a reel for this rod. I'll be fishing this rod in the NJ surf and jetties for blues and stripers, and anticipate getting splashed occasionally. I fish hard, but always rinse my reels after fishing saltwater and spray with Ballistol every few sessions. I also break down and clean my surf reels when necessary. I pretty much fish Penn reels out of habit (and hometown loyalty), but I'm open to any suggestions. My thoughts were: Penn Spinfisher VI (4500BLS or 5500?) Penn Slammer 3 5500 Shimano Stradic FL (never fished a Shimano, so I'm not sure about their sizing compared to Penn) Daiwa BG or Saltist (I fish a BG one on my fluke rod. Love the smoothness and light weight, but not so confident in it's durability) Tsunami Evict?? Any insight would be welcome!
  16. I have 4 reels I'd like to sell. 1st reel is a very lightly used tsunami shield 4000. Reel is in spectacular shape, I bought it brand new in the spring and never got to use it in salt, it got used a couple nights at my buddy's lake catching some small catfish and that's it. I actually have an extra spool from an older one I broke that I included as well. Main spool is spooled with 30 lb braid, lightly used, and the original box. $85 shipped. 2nd reel is a Daiwa BG 4500. This one I cant figure out. It's in great exterior shape but is cranking loud and pretty rough. I've used it as is but it should probably be opened up. Has the original box. $50 shipped. 3rd reel is an Abu Garcia Revo SC baitcast reel, right handed, 7.1:1 ratio. Really solid reel, I've used it a few years largemouth fishing, would make a great freshwater and light inshore reel. Has 30 lb braid on it. $60 shipped. Last one is a Bass Pro Shops formula spinning reel size 20. Holds 105 yds of 10 lb mono. Nice little reel for the price, a perfect freshwater reel or would make a great starter reel for someone. $25 shipped.
  17. Slow pitch spinning, 6’ model. Purchased second hand. I haven’t personally used it. Original owner may have used it 2-3 times. $60 picked up Queens/Nassau can meet today
  18. Hello, Quick question, do any of you crush the barbs on the Tsunami Swim Shads, the regular hooks, not the new Heavy Duty ones. I’ve never had an issue with crushing the barbs on my Bucktails, but these hooks have a much smaller gauge. Thank you for your help!
  19. Brand new Shield 6000. Never fished. Never spooled. Box is wrong. It was mixed up with another reel and says 5000. $100 shipped
  20. Hi all, hoping someone can possibly help. I have several tsunami shield reels and I'm pretty happy with them so far. I'm trying to do routine maintenance and having a very very difficult time removing the side plates on my tsunami shield 3000. Has anybody else experienced this problem And does anybody have some advice on how to remove the side plate without damaging the reel ? Thanks so much
  21. Fished once. Seagate 20 with 15lb jbraid. Tsunami classic 7’ XH rated 20-40lb. Used for a few drifts in montauk. Picked It up for friends to use. No longer needed. Washed down. Box included. $215 or best offer picked up in Queens/Nassau
  22. For sale. Reel is basically new. Made one drop with a bucktails out in montauk and reeled back up because current was too strong. Used a conventional the rest of the trip. Have a Certate on pre order and this reel was just meant to be a carry over. Spooled with 15lb jbraid grand. Box and Eva knob included. $125 shipped.
  23. Hi guys, I have 2 tsunami shield 4000s and like them, but both have been giving me issues. I was able to open one with the tool provided and found that the main gear is completely toast, most of the teeth are just completely flattened. On the other one, it is not oscillating, but I cannot get the side plate off to save my life! So 2 questions: any tips on how I can get that side plate off? It is just locked on there I cant budge it (the other one took as lot to get off too but eventually I got it). And second, is there anywhere to buy replacement parts for tsunami? Thanks!
  24. Fished once. Washed down. Rated 15-30. This is the XH model. 1-4oz lure. Perfect for drifting with 10-12oz sinkers. $50 picked up Queens/Nassau
