  1. Why are we still tying knots? ? With all the technological advances in our sport, why are we still using the same stuff I used when casting my first generation silver Diawa? Clumsy metal clips, old school leaders, rusty swivels...man-o-man, do I despise all the make-shift, outdated methods we use to join bait and line: In the age of carbon fiber, nano resins, super braids: C'mon, there's gotta be a glue that fuses braid and leader: what we do instead: tying a double uniknot at midnight up to your neck in white water. Seriously? Let's modernize the way we connect our bait: The person tying the least amount of knots wins. Example: teaser rigs that clip on and off to a connection point yet to be imagined. Clip on lures, pliable plastic baits that can be formed onto a hook. Tiny water proof battery that makes imitation baits like worms wiggle in the hook. Braid is great stuff: but we use the same terminal tackle I used to catch dinosaurs back in the '70's. We can do better!!! Ideas?
  2. Has anyone had issues using the 60lb SPRO power split rings? Should I replace them with 90lb?
  3. Is there a large enough single and treble hook market for any of the manufacturers to produce barbless single and 4x treble hooks? Would plug builders be willing to use them? I know it only takes a few minutes to crush the barbs on a newly acquired plug. But I'd rather do other things than tend to this task, and I think the "crushing" process may compromise the hook finish to some degree.
  4. Hello, I'm starting to break into more frequent fishing from the surf and jetties, but I'm relatively new. When casting a fluorocarbon leader attached to a braid mainline via a swivel; is there any benefit to using the $$ ball bearing Spro swivels as opposed to the plain Spro swivels? I'd like to keep the money for beer if I can cheap out on these.
  5. Adios Terminal Tackle, my local tackle shop. Their last day was yesterday. It's just a sad day in fishing and for the scene. I'd like to know why some shops are killing it and others are closing but I'd rather not go into it, still grieving. I'm gonna miss the smell the most.
