Hey y’all, attached below I’ve added a couple videos of myself (5’8) throwing a 12’ foot moderate action rod with a 3oz sinker on a spinning rod. I was getting about 95-110 yards or so and was wondering how I could get it farther? I fish at a dam and it seems like I am usually on the lower end of the people in terms of casting distance. I would appreciate some advice on how to throw further, straighter, and more consistently. Thanks IMG_4910.mov IMG_4925.mov IMG_4930.mov IMG_4928.mov

Hey yall looking for a budget lightweight surf rod that is... -11' spinning rod -Tossing out 2-3.5oz sinkers -Using 20lb braid -Fast Action (a somewhat stiff rod) -Lightweight (under 14-15oz) -More guides the better -Cheap!! (Under $150) -Somewhat similar to the shimano speedmaster but lighter in weight BTW, I have tried/know about most of the common surf rods that are sold throughout the US so looking for most the under the radar rods that are sold in europe/japan. Anyone know how the Shimano Tribal TX2 handles?? My top picks for the moment are -Daiwa Coastal SP Surf (Originally $140 but on sale for $112) -Daiwa Emcast ($90) -Tsunami Trophy 2 ($125) -Okuma Rockaway MH (Originally $110 but on sale for $80) Thanks

Looking for a cheap rod cover/sleeve for a 11', 12', and 13'3 spinning surf rod (so 6'6 in length for a bag or roughly 3 feet for a sleeve). Would prefer one where I could put my reels in too. So far I have these two in mind - rod bags cover (https://rod-bags.com/products/canvas-series?variant=44548286447907¤cy=USD&utm_medium=product_sync&utm_source=google&utm_content=sag_organic&utm_campaign=sag_organic&tw_source=google&tw_adid=&tw_campaign=20302382827&gclid=CjwKCAjwivemBhBhEiwAJxNWN5te1Kzu0h9SuHy0V8nR2cphXxSIJYuF1WTmJm_sPpZLFVc3Q_SiAhoC4L0QAvD_BwE) -6th sense cover (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0B4BMWGRS/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A3FXDC2AG74MJ5&psc=1)

Hey yall Im planning to get one of these cheap spinning surf rods for casting 3 oz weights. I have multiple other surf rods and need one on a budget. I've narrowed it down to these two as I needed something lightweight, able to cast 3 oz sinkers, and decent quality. I think I'm leaning towards the emcast as it is a rod I've felt before and enjoyed. Furthermore it has more guides which will allow it to cast further. If any of yall have tried these rods please let me know any information you have. Thanks Okuma Rockaway 11' -10.6 oz -6+1 guides -Originally $130 but on sale for $77 Daiwa Emcast 11' -unknown but still extremely light -8 guides -$90

Hey yall, Im looking for a 13'-14' rod asap. Can't cast far enough at the dam I fish with my 12' rod and everyone else recommended me with a longer rod. I was looking at the "Shimano SURF GAZER 13'3" rod which goe for around $300. I would like any recommendations yall have for under $350. Thanks -13'-14' rod -Not too whippy (mod/mod-fast/fast preferred) -Lightweight (under 16-18oz) -Will be throwing 3-4 oz weights and flukes -Paring with 5500 ultegra ci4

Recently I broke a 1-6 11' ODM genesis I built, it was a great rod but I'm looking for better and the unimpressive 1.5 year lifespan left a bitter taste in my mouth with ODM. I'm strongly considering a CTS vapor trail but I'd like to hear how it stacks up against other top brands. The durability of a Lamiglas is also appealing but I've never liked the floppier action they have. Anyone experienced with these brands have any advice?

Ok i read lot of advices and topic about the same , which one is more "loved"... my scenario of fishing is beach, a bit windy most of the time (other days is windy as hell), the fish i find here is snook and tarpons, the most "common", i have 30lb jbraid on a Daiwa BG4000 and 40lb supwerpower on a BG5000, On the way is coming 2oz talkin poppers and 2 3/8 pencil, 2oz Spro bucktail (items for a surf starting thinking in the beach i fish every day) , i fish from the rocks (breakwaters), sometimes from the sandfloor, what u recomend me, i have $240 giftcard on my amazon wallet, and i see not much stocks on st croix mojo surfs, but i have 9' 3/4 4 and 1-4, .... Have the TFO 9' MAG L too 1-5 but dont know much about these rods, thank you all.

I've found a glaring hole in my arsenal (or an excuse to buy more gear..). I'm looking to get something throw smaller/mid sized plugs in the back and around bridges. I need something to fit in-between b 7ft 6 M Avid inshore and 9ft 6 Tsunami airwave elite. Probably around 8ft 1/2-2oz preferably 1 piece. I already own a 8ft mojo surf but its really just used for tossing tins to to bluefish at inlets since it doesn't throw the lighter stuff too well. I am thinking about pulling the trigger on an avid inshore 8ft MH but my only concern is those rods are pretty fast and this rod will be mostly be used with treble hooks. Let me know you guys think. Thanks in advance.

Hi there, I'm looking for a both the Airwave Elite 8'8" 1/2-2 oz and 9'6" 3/4- 3 oz rods. I am interested rods in all conditions as long as they are structurally sound and nothing major going on. If you have some with guides that need replacing or repairs, also shoot me a price. Pick up near Brooklyn would be ideal but shipping can work. I can travel to the 5 boroughs and a bit into LI if needed. Thanks for looking and tight lines
