  1. Hey yall, im just wondering your opinions on what I should throw and what colors from around 3 hours before first light to sunrise. My only problem is that high tide on thanksgiving is going to be around 4:30 am and sunrise around 6:50. So I am unsure what to do and what to throw. Any advice is greatly appreciated! The beach im planning on walking is pretty deep with a steeper drop off at high.
  2. Heading to OC in a couple of weeks and looking for recommendations. I'll be fishing in the morning and at night. I haven't been there in years since I mostly fish the inlet at Delaware/Henlopen pier/bethany surf or closer to home. Not a fan of the Oceanic Pier with too many boats and jet skis crossing my line What's the best outta the OC inlet, 2-4th street, 9th street pier, Route 50 bridge, Homer Gudelsky Park, Assateague... Any specific spots on the beach for surf fishing (shark)?? I have enough gear to do all types of stuff. Hoping to catch some stripers/bluefish or keeper flounders.
  3. I'm new to jetty and inlet fishing, and I'd love to hear what tides people favor when fishing inlets. After a few trips, I think I may be partial towards end of the drop, to fish through incoming as often as I can. What do you prefer? How do you work your bucktails? Darters? When fishing a new inlet, what do you look for safety-wise when you don't know it well yet? Felt or spiked soles? GO! and TIA
  4. My brother and I will be taking a trip to Jalisco, Mexico in July, and will be surf fishing mainly for Roosterfish. Could you help me with your experience in fishing these fish on the coast of Mexico, I know that we should mainly look for long casts, with fast retrieve reels and surface lures. Could you recommend me which are the best lures for roosterfish fishing. and finally we will be fishing between Tenacatita and Barra de Navidad like 3.5 hours south of Puerto Vallarta, also if you know of any other place in the area that could

  13. Any of you guys ever chunk around rocky areas? Up till now I've only done it from the beach but I bought some floats today and I'm gonna hit one of my plug spots with bait. Just let it drift over the structure and see what happens. Be nice to see who else does this technique and how effective has it been for you guys?
  14. Hello! I’m looking to learn more about surf fishing. I have some experience with surf fishing where I would tag along with a friend of mine when he sets out to fish at the beach out on Long Island, NY. Although I have a pretty good sense on casting out and reeling in, I know that there is much more to fishing than just casting and reeling. I am seeking for more knowledge when it comes to rods, reels, lines, lures and etc. Any advice, tips, techniques and guidance for a beginner wanting to become good at surf fishing is appreciated.
  15. Anyone have any guess or ideas what this can be? Washed up still alive at my feet while I casting SP Minnows this morning. Looked to be partially digested?! Missing a good amount of scales/skin. Had teeth, looked to me like a juvi baracuda?????

  17. Hello everyone on this forum, this is my first thread partly because iv allways been able to find the answers to most of my question till now. I recently been running into some bad luck with losing my tackle on the beaches when fishing, most recently all of my bucktails and my pliars. so that being said i find myself digging to the bottom of my tackle boxes and closet for what ever i have left. i recently dug up some berkley gulp jerk shads i never even opened. so my question is is it worth it to rigg some of these boys up on my next trip to the surf? there is alot of bait fish in close and some pretty good numbers of cocktail blues between 12 & 17 inches, winds coming out of the NE which is good for me bec i fish the north shore of li sound, and orient point. thanks in advance for all of your input!
