    Star VPR Surf vs. TFO Tactical Surf. Looking at the 10’6” MH 2-6oz in both, as well as the 9’ and 11’ sizes possibly. For anyone who has tried either or both of these brand rods, which do you prefer and why? Are they comparable? They VPR is about $40 more expensive. I need 2-3 new setups for next year (one lighter and one heavier for canal and surf, and maybe one for jettys and piers). I can’t decide between Star or TFO. Going to be using this in Cape Cod Canal, NY, NJ, and VA surf, as well as FL surf, and possibly FL and NJ jetty’s. I travel a lot to find fish lol. Considering pairing with some Vissers. Thanks in advance for any advice!

    I am wanting to build a surf rod. I am going to put a VSX 150 with 20# on the rod. I‘m casting .75 to 1.5 ounce lures. Rod blank Recommendations?

    I'm going to admit up front I'm doing this to get a little discussion and debate going, so do you think a rod with 12 runners is more powerful than a rod with 6 or 8 runners?

    First surf rod I've ever bought... Has anyone had a crack at this 1-piece surf rod? Planning on using it for drum in the fall with an Abu 6500CT & 15 lb Ande, 30 lb top. Feels a bit light but casts 3oz wayyyyyy farther than I ever have before. Is 15 too light? Just lookin to see if anyone has had a good experience with it. Thanks! Eli

    I have a slightly used 9' St Criox Legend, this rod does not have a butt cap. This is last years model. I used it for half of the season last year. I am located in RI, and am willing drive a little to meet up. I occasionally go to the Cape and down to Ct. looking to get $300 for the rod. I will post pics later when I get home from work.
