  1. Going to try for smelt this year from kayak. Will target in MA. probably in a few weeks. Anyone want to go? Night fishing. cold. Dry suit and warm gear.
  2. Who is interested. IIRC from when I looked into it last year some shacks will accommodate 4 or 5 guys and other will hold a lot more. I'm going to start to look around tomorrow but it would be nice to have some idea of how many folks are interested. The length of stay is usually one tide, though you can rent back-to back tides. Please indicate if you want a one day day stay or more than one day with a night or day in some hotel. I assume everyone will provide their own transportation, when and if the time comes we can talk about carpooling. 1- MakoMike
  3. Planned a last min trip to Maine Saturday night with friends smelt fishing. Need a few rods and odd ends for the trip. Anyone have anything to borrow/sell for the day that are in Mass? Leaving Sat afternoon and will pick up. Thanks
  4. I'm staying in Boston for an overnight tonight at the Marriott Long Warf and I brought a rod with me. I know there's not much to catch this time of year but I know that smelt are supposed to be pretty abundant during the winter time around Boston. I have a a Sabiki Rig with a spoon on the end of it that I'm planning to use. I'm going to fish around 8 tonight on the incoming tide somewhere around the aquarium where ever it is allowed. Do you think there will be anything around and does anybody have any tips or suggestions. Feedback is greatly appreciated!
  5. I've heard there are a lot of smelt in my area and i was wondering what some good baits and lures.
