  1. Looking for a lightweight, 8' rod for the surf. Particularly looking for the Century Sling Shot SS965C. Plan to toss light jigs and mirrolures for trout/drum/flounder.
  2. Hi, This is a Custom built on the Century Sling Shot SS1267. This is 2 pc. 10'6" 2-5 oz. This has been test casted at one outing with a bunker spoon and it casts a mile. My shoulder is not cooperating so back to bait for me Silver/Red and it has name "Just Pat" on it. 464.00 is new off the shelf price, so 375.00 paypal. (Of course this was built from the blank 341.00 plus Fuji components plus labor) Thanks for looking, Pat
  3. Beautiful rod, like new, near perfect condition. 10'6" throws 1-3oz. a mile. Love the rod but my lower back doesn't. Willing to trade for SS1145 in like condition or sell for $375. Photos to follow. Thanks.
  4. Hey Everyone, Have read through several older threads pertaining to Century Slingshots and have a couple of very specific questions that I was unable to find answers to. I've fished the SS1265 and love the rod, but felt I was a little bit under-gunned trying to turn a larger size fish in current. Was in MA at the time and definitely wondered if life would have been more difficult at home in a boulder field. What I'd like to do is move from a rod with medium power (ss1265 is rated 12 - 20# line, 1 - 3.5oz lure) to something mh rated 15 - 30# like the SS1267, BUT hopefully without losing the ability to throw very light bucktails. I throw a lot of 3/4 and 1oz jigs and think that I'm able to stay hooked up sometimes for this reason, so ideally I'd be able to find a rod that has a little more backbone than the 1265, like the 1267, that's especially able to handle the low end of (or slightly below) its weight rating well. Obviously the "correct" solution is to have multiple rods for these two purposes, but I'm wondering what would be the bigger reach, so to speak, trying to throw 3/4 - 1oz with a 1267, or trying to turn a ~30# fish in current with a 1265? Alternatively, is there another rod like a Vapor Trail or S8 that you like for throwing light weights especially well? I've heard that the 11' vapor trail rated 3-6 will throw down to 1oz very well and obviously the GSB 120 1l is an incerdibly popular all-around rod, although I've come to really appreciate the actions on the ss rods... Thanks!
  5. Few months back I snapped the tip of my Century SS1265 rod on a blue fish. I was trying to reach for the leader and without realizing moved my rod hand towards the middle while reaching for the leader with the other, then heard that awful noise. I contacted a Century rep to see what could be done. He said we can build me a new top half which will cost me $150+ or can attach a new tip guide which will cost about $25. I believe this does not include the shipping cost. I am kind of disappointed with their warrantee because before I purchased the rod I asked many people about their warrantee and everyone pretty much said they’ll take care of me if something were to happen. For disclosure purposes this rod was bought as a second hand but was lead to believe that the warrantee would still be honored. I guess my mistake was telling the rep that I had purchased it as a second hand rod. I really didn’t think it would matter but apparently it does, rep’s own words. I purchased the rod for $225 and to pay close to 175 to get it repaired just doesn’t make any sense. What you guys think? What are my options here? Thanks in advance.
