  1. Hey everybody! As I was wondering my local Walmart I saw an interesting item. A reel that looks suspiciously similar to a tsunami shield. Upon further inspection it has the same amount of seals and used the same proprietary tool as the shield. I love my shield and these reels are half the price. Does anyone have any experience with the Ozark trail branded saltwater reel?
  2. Hey guys I’m in a bind I moved and lost the tool to my tsunami shield 4000 amd reason I need it is my drag is super sticky so I’m assuming the drag stack needs grease or cleaned. Does anyone know where I can find a tool online or something else I could use? Or does anyone have one they could hook me up on? Also can’t find anywhere to even contact tsunami
  3. WTS Tsunami Shield 5000. Manual bail pickup installed (see pics). Has 30# Cortland braid. Clean, no mechanical issues. Would be a fun reel to learn how to fish without a bail. Good starter reel or something to throw on a back-up rod. Shield 5000 built on same platform as Shield 6000 but lighter (smaller spool), still holds a lot of braid. "Sealed reel" don't fish it like a Van Staal, but will take a beating on the beaches of the Jersey shore and will wash up at the end of the day with fresh water. Sits well on most 9 or 10 foot rods (can be used on a 7-8' MH-Hvy inshore rod as well). Carbon drag (sealed). Asking $80 obo. Paypal. Willing to meet in Northern NJ, will discuss shipping if no other bids.
  4. Brand new. Tags and plastic still attached. 7’ MH model. $100 picked up Queens/Nassau
  5. I have 4 reels I'd like to sell. 1st reel is a very lightly used tsunami shield 4000. Reel is in spectacular shape, I bought it brand new in the spring and never got to use it in salt, it got used a couple nights at my buddy's lake catching some small catfish and that's it. I actually have an extra spool from an older one I broke that I included as well. Main spool is spooled with 30 lb braid, lightly used, and the original box. $85 shipped. 2nd reel is a Daiwa BG 4500. This one I cant figure out. It's in great exterior shape but is cranking loud and pretty rough. I've used it as is but it should probably be opened up. Has the original box. $50 shipped. 3rd reel is an Abu Garcia Revo SC baitcast reel, right handed, 7.1:1 ratio. Really solid reel, I've used it a few years largemouth fishing, would make a great freshwater and light inshore reel. Has 30 lb braid on it. $60 shipped. Last one is a Bass Pro Shops formula spinning reel size 20. Holds 105 yds of 10 lb mono. Nice little reel for the price, a perfect freshwater reel or would make a great starter reel for someone. $25 shipped.
  6. 7’ medium. 10-20lb 1/8-3/4 oz. Practically new. Purchased today 10/5. Few casts on it. Ended up being too light on the specs for me. $100 picked up of best offer in Queens/Nassau
  7. Brand new Shield 6000. Never fished. Never spooled. Box is wrong. It was mixed up with another reel and says 5000. $100 shipped
  8. Hi all, hoping someone can possibly help. I have several tsunami shield reels and I'm pretty happy with them so far. I'm trying to do routine maintenance and having a very very difficult time removing the side plates on my tsunami shield 3000. Has anybody else experienced this problem And does anybody have some advice on how to remove the side plate without damaging the reel ? Thanks so much
  9. Hi guys, I have 2 tsunami shield 4000s and like them, but both have been giving me issues. I was able to open one with the tool provided and found that the main gear is completely toast, most of the teeth are just completely flattened. On the other one, it is not oscillating, but I cannot get the side plate off to save my life! So 2 questions: any tips on how I can get that side plate off? It is just locked on there I cant budge it (the other one took as lot to get off too but eventually I got it). And second, is there anywhere to buy replacement parts for tsunami? Thanks!
  10. St. Croix's are both same model # - all 3 rods are 1 piece so I will not ship. Pickup all 3 for $200 - Kearny to Keyport, NJ area 1 used conventional St. Croix Mojo - I circled some boat rash in picture (from sitting in a rod holder) on the split grip section, guides are all in good shape. 1 new conventional St. Croix Mojo with tags still on 1 new spinning Tsunami Shield with tags still on
  11. Hi- I currently fish a Penn Conflict 2 4000. i have caught some big bass with the reel over the past 7 months. its kept in wonderful condition and really haven't put it to the "test" in my opinion. it recently has been getting harder and harder to reel when tension is on the line ( Fish, Snagged Bunker, Diver Bait. etc ). Something is wrong. i am currently going through warranty with Penn. In the mean time,i have an itch to buy another Conflict 2 4000 while my original one get fixed or try something different in its class such as try the Tsunami Shield 4000. i like light tackle and really don't think i would go any bigger than a 4000 size reel. let me know your input with Conflict 2, Shield 4000 or any other reel you enjoy fishing with. Thanks Zambots
  12. Hey guys any opinion on this reel? The reason I am asking is because I am getting into a new surf setup, decided on a TFO 11ft Tactiocal Series (mind could change), but still looking for a nice reel. I am novice level fisherman use to be living in CT, but relocated to OK. I was thinking a Penn Slammer 3 5500, but unfortunately its a little out of my price range, then I looked at the new Diawa BG series and was thinking between a 4500 and 5000 series, however I was browsing Youtube the other day and found out about SurfCasterJournal and saw this. This application will be for dam fishing, down south here in Oklahoma/Texas Stripers are fished mostly at dams. So I am fishing 3/4oz-2oz jig heads with flukes or sassy shad and throwing 1oz to 3oz top water plugs. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. My price range for rod and reel would be around ($400).
