  1. I believe these were peanut bunker. It seems like they were being chased by something which would lead to them jumping out of the water like that, but I'm not sure if that is true. If so, any guesses as to what species it'd be? And maybe how to catch them? I tried casting a little peanut bunker imitation lure but no luck. Thank you. IMG_1452.MOV
  2. Disgraceful Degenerates in RI. Tiverton Albies are the best that came out of that town!

  4. Hi Everyone this is Luke Znosko with Z belt. Thank you all for the overwhelmingly positive feedback I see on here for my products. I wanted to start this thread to answer any questions you guys have. I see a lot of guys talking about belts, bags and load outs. Most of the threads on here reference the gen1 Z Belt. The gen2 regular z belt provides 20% more carrying capacity and the gen2 slim allows for offset orientation for those that want the plug bag to come all the way around front past the hip. Grateful for everyone in this industry and cant wait to answer any questions you have 1st picture is for fun 2nd picture illustrates the regular vs the slim belt 3rd picture is my goofy mario looking ass with a RI schoolie from fall 2021 Enjoy
  5. My fellow Rhode Islanders, Starting a thread to see your largest largies of 2021. This is purely a brag thready so brag away! I've filled in part of this pic to hide location. 5 pounder caught on a chatterbait
  6. Hi y’all I’m trying to get into some saltwater kayak fishing. I currently don't own a fishing kayak, so any tips on purchasing an ideal one would be a great help whether it should be used or new or paddle or peddle. I am mainly going to be fishing in the Narragansett bay, and in rivers and estuaries. I have mainly been fishing from boat and land and this would be the first time I start up the hobby of fishing from kayak. The fish that I’m gonna be targeting will be striped bass, bluefish, fluke(summer flounder), tataug(blackfish), black sea bass, and scup(porgy). The types of fishing methods that I plan on using will be casting plugs and lures, chunking, trolling tube and worm and umbrella rigs, and bottom fishing. I mainly already have all the rods reels and tackle equipment, but extra tips on certain setups that would be ideal for kayak would be great help. I have a 2012 Ford Fusion sedan so transporting it would definitely needs some planning. Do you guys have any tips of a beginner set up that would work good for me. Mainly looking to spend relatively cheap but not too expensive, anywhere between $500-$1500. Also, what extra equipment would you recommend such as a fish-finder/depth finder, anchor, transporting equipment, and any other extra helpful accessories. Thanks
  7. I'm new to surf fishing in general and have never visited RI. Can you recommend a spot to start at that allows night fishing also? Thanks
  8. Looking to by Murat lures, and or boxes. Any age, shape, or condition. Thanks! -Pat
  9. After years of fly fishing Rhode Island's East Bay, I am ready to share my knowledge with others in the form of a new blog: S.K.S Adventures. The blog is still in it's infancy, and I still have much to learn, but I hope that those who are interested in learning more about striped bass fly fishing will add the site to their regular rotation of online fly fishing content. There are posts about a whole range of fly fishing topics, with lots of content scheduled for the future. So far this blog has been a lot of fun for me. I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I do! 10. I went down to RI's south shore chasing holdovers in one of my brackish rivers and found a nice school of holdovers all in the 15-19" range but fun all the less, considering we were out there 40 minutes. Anyone else having luck here in Mass? Are the rising herring populations going to attract more early season fish? Just a thread to talk early season fishing, tight lines!
  11. Just wondering if anyone has started their spearfishing season in RI yet. I know Tautog season started a few weeks back but have not gotten out myself to check out the numbers. Mainly just want to start a thread for spearfishing. But also interested in stripers since I have heard a few keepers have been caught already.
  12. Hello, this is my first post, but I am a 20 yr old from RI and looking to get into surf fishing and am wondering if people have recommendations where to go surf fishing and if there are any easy places to take my 14ft skiff into the bay? also what types of lures and set p I should use. I am looking to go for striped bass.
