  1. Hello guys! Need your help. I want to soon buy a Penn Clash 3000 coil, but there is a problem. It may not come up, leg coil, to my rod (palms shore gun evolv sfsgs-96 mh), tried to put Penn Pursuit III 5000, his leg did not fit in thickness. I don’t have a big city and the choice of Penn’s coils is very small, so I need to order from an online store, but I'm afraid it won’t work. Friends who have a reel Penn Slash 3000-4000 tell me what foot size (width, length, thickness) I would be very, very grateful to you. Sorry for my English, I'm from Russia
  2. New in box 6500 i want to trade it for a shimano ultegra ci4

  4. Hey guys, first time poster here, long time fisherman. Born and raised on Cape Cod, I’ve been fishing for over 20 years, 10 of which I’d consider “serious”, and figured I’d try to make my first post here somewhat interesting and informative. * This past spring I had contacted Lou Caruso about a potential build for an all-around Cape Cod Canal rod. Something similar to a Slingshot 1328 (which I had already owned). Lou being Lou is much more in tune with new companies and the quality of the blanks being released. I told him what I’d be looking for out of a rod, what I threw for plugs/jigs/Swimmers etc, and Lou turned me onto ODM, specifically the 11’ 4-10oz Jigster. He spoke of the incredibly wide range this blank can throw, its ability to lean on fish in the tide, and he thought it would be a perfect fit for what I was looking for. I didn’t want be that guy with 17 rods in his bike, and really wanted to narrow it down to just 2-3 max (one being a lighter schoolie/albie setup). Rated for up to 33 pounds of drag and 4-10oz lures I was expecting this blank to be a heavy telephone pole, and frankly had my doubts. I contacted CMS and had the opportunity to throw their 10’ model with a variety of my stuff, and immediately put a build into place. So after being paired with a Saltiga 6500h, over the next 2 months of fishing I would throw everything from SP minnows (the 1 7/8oz salt pro) to 7.5 oz. Bill Hurley’s (paddle tail included), and even an 8 oz trolling stick shad, jigging, plugging, and taking fish up to 44 pounds in moontides, I can say without question this blank is incredible. I own Century rods, Lamiglas, Cousins/Ron Arra, St. Croix, and TFO and you can see me fishing them in any of my videos. This was the first time I felt compelled to make a video about a product just to show people what it could do. It’s not a technical video, just casting a multitude of plugs and jigs before showing the Jigster take down a #35 on a 3 oz pencil. Don’t let the name fool you, this is not a jigging only rod. A big thanks to CMS for doing such quality work, the seamless transitions and wrapping done is beautiful. So take the video for what it’s worth. This is directed mainly at my fellow canal rats as another potential option to consider. I look forward to becoming a contributing member of this forum!

  10. Hey guys, first post. I know a lot of people have asked similar questions but haven’t seen anything exact. I see the new Stratic has been leaked (thanks tackle advisors for the update as always). Was looking to buy 4 reels in the 6-20k Shimano size range here in a couple month. Was curious if anyone has heard anything on reels getting updated like the Gosa, saltiga, ect or if any new Spinners in that size/quality range might be released to the American market. Was thinking about the Daiwa Catalina but was thinking about waiting till after icast to make sure i don’t miss a new spinner from daiwa. Thanks eveyone.
  11. Selling my used Daiwa BG 5000 spinning reel. Has been mostly a backup reel for the last year, seen the water maybe 5 times in minimal use, if that. Looks great minus one small scuff on the spool and a little bit of paint missing on the reel arm from where the top reel seat connects, but otherwise in mint condition. Spooled with brand new never casted 50 lb braid, forget the brand. Comes with original box and paperwork. $90 shipped paypal.

  14. Hello, first post here so let me know if I'm doing anything stupid. The felt drag in my Shimano Solstace 4000 Front Drag gave out and I would like to replace it with a carbontex drag system. I can only get a hold of this through Mike's Reel Repair, and he doesn't seem to have anything for the Solstace because it has been discontinued. Is there any other reel that has identical drag? The Stradic maybe? Any help is appreciated.
  15. Like new with very little fresh water use , Diawa Luna 253 Located in Lavallette, NJ I prefer pick up but I will ship without insurance cash preferred $180
  16. Does anyone have interest or info to share about the Ru Sport reels imported after WWII? or any of the larger Ru reels?
  17. Anybody have any thoughts about this reel, or experience using it?. I see it going on the internet for around 50$ and think it might make a good reel for some freshwater and light salt use. I Don't see much info online about the reel.
  18. Trying to sell a very lightly used penn battle II size 2000. It was bought on a combo and used in freshwater just a few times and doesnt get touched so I'd rather get it in someone's hand who will use it, would be the perfect fresh/salt dual use reel. Reel is in spectacular shape, i dont see any noticable marks on it. Currently has 8 lb mono on it. $60 shipped.
  19. Selling 2 shimano reels. The first is a personal favorite of mine, but I have multiple side I'm selling one, a shimano 200e7 curado. 7:1 gear ratio, right handed, spooled with 40 lb white ardent gliss braid, has the originalbox and papers, comes with reel grips on it already and it has upgraded spool bearings. Reel is in excellent shape, it has only minor wear on the outside (see pics), feels great and fishes well. Looking for $135 shipped. The second reel is a shimano nasci c3000 spinning reel. Reel was used for this past summer in freshwater. It is in good shape with only light wear as shown in the picture. It sounds like it has a bit noisy of a bearing but otherwise is fully functioning. Looking for $60 shipped.
  20. Hi all I am looking for a Shimano bait runner 8000d handle I have some plugs and a new spool of braid or can pay cash .Thank you

  22. I was wondering what rod you guy would use with a 3000 saltist back bay i was thinking a 8-14 pound test rod (usually labeled as medium light) but i know that the saltwater daiwa reels tend to be on the larger side so i'm just looking for some of your input
  23. Hey guys I just recently bought a Van Staal VS 200 which I purchased for surf fishing. Almost all of my fishing is done from the surf but I occasionally do some bass fishing trips on a friends boat.I don’t really want to spend more money on a conventional reel that I will barely use so I was wondering if anyone uses their Van Staal as a boat reel? And if so what are your thoughts?
  24. So I just picked up a new TFO 11' .5 - 2.0oz rod. Looking to pair with a nice, relatively in-expensive, reel. My head is spinning. Every time I think I've narrowed it down, I find something else. This being my first lighter weight setup for throwing sp's and stuff, I'm also torn if I should go 30# or 40# braid route. The rod is light, 11.4oz, so I want to keep the reel under 16oz max. Slammer III 4500: 14.7oz : 250yds 30#: 30 drag Daiwa BG 4000: 14.3oz: 280yds 30#, 200yds 40#: 17.6 drag -- I like the 4500 better, but 22oz weight: 22 drag Spinfisher 4500: 15.40oz: 200yds 30# Anything else in the sub $250 range?
  25. Looking for a 6000 or 6500 series Abu Garcia. In generally working order but may needing a breakdown and cleaning. $45 max for C3 reel.
