  1. This is not political. I live in a seemingly pro-2a state, however the local politics are skewed to be against 2a. My neighnorhood is a majority of non-US, high-net worth south americans. Good barbecue. Recently, there has been a few car thefts and even a report of an armed robbery, but the perps didn't take anything from the victims. Just menaced them. Police showed up the day after. No comment. I don't like telling my neighbors I own or I carry. I prefer my privacy because people tend to say and do stupid things when confronted with something in conflict with their pollyanna world view. Wife jumped on the housewife chat and prompted "the watch" discussion when someone suggested we collectively hire a mall cop. I told her it has to be an unarmed watch if it involves patrolling the street. Just cellphones to call the cops. Why? 3 guys just got life+ in GA for attempting to stop a burglary suspect who later tried to dissarm them. I believe 1 was retired leo. The message to bad guys is "have at it". Post George Floyd, cops can't use physical force. Post Arbury, civillians need to let the perps walk or run and just chalk it up. I have no doubt if an armed citizen in my little islet attempted to use force to stop a crime, the cops would be forced to prosecute the citizen to the fullest. Kyle was the outlier. Arbury case is the standard. I believe a presence of owners walking the block or even just standing on their porches may suffice as a short-term deterrant.
  2. Just to say sometime things just doesn't go right and you just can't avoid it. Had the day off for a beautiful fishing day with a little bit of west wind. (maybe SW?) Half way getting to my spot I forgot my hat...... then got to my spot forgetting my tackle box in the car too! What the hell.... good thing my friend had some tackles to lend me. Then proceed to skunk on togging. Where the hell were they? No other fish to be found on bait. Went to my lure and got a couple of schoolies and that was it. Nothing else is going on with a beautiful day................
  3. I mean every trade has it's own unique challenge. But everytime I tackle a DIY job I always run into stupid issues where it will take me extra 2 hours to do or even fix. Today I went to replace the kitchen faucet and the old one had rust on the nuts and I can't get it out, ending up taking the whole sink out (lifted up) and dremel the rusted part out to remove. Then had to re-caulk it. (not to mention all the rust /dry silicone created a whole new mess all around the sink. Then I thought I was in the clear with the whole installation and realize the shut off valve leaks. WTF.... now it's just dripping after 4 hours of work. Starring at it I just put a tray under it for now until I can figure out how I can tackle it. There is no freaking way this will just come out for me to replace.... perhaps replacing the pipe is the only option....
