  1. Excellent condition Delta dust collector with Oneida cyclone with barrel and Wynn engineering micron filter. Hobbyist use probably less than 40 hours. Works great. Like new. asking $550. Located Long Island, NY
  2. Wood Mini Lathe For Sale: $225 - O.B.O. New never used. This is one of my backup Lathes. I bought it years ago and its been sitting in storage ever since. Time to make some room. Pick up in Toms River, NJ area. PP F&F, Money order, or Cash
  3. I'm a fairly seasoned woodwork/carver that never owned a lathe. About to buy a mini....looking to turn 5" to 7" needles, spooks and the usual suspects. I've learned from relief carving that I really only use 5 of the 100 chisels I own. Can you guys give me advice on which "go to" chisels/gouges I should purchase?
  4. Grizzly tabletop bandsaw for sale. Not sure of model. pickup or local delivery only. Located in northern ocean county. $75
  5. Anyone use them? I heard of multiple benefits, allowing a higher CFM to pass through the unit, and filtration down to 1 micron. I find the filter bags to be a more general attempt at dust collection. Thanks for any input Tommy
  6. Used a handful of times, had for maybe a year or two. Don’t remember what I payed. $35 pickup in Wilton, CT 06897.
  7. I have the el cheapo harbor freight press but drilling any plug over 4inches is kinda a crapshoot. Can anyone recommend a press that can drill out a 9 in or bigger plug without costing a fortune? Not really sure how to pick a press
  8. Recently I have been brainstorming some ideas that I’m going to try and build in the future. Does anyone have any plug building ideas that never quite materialized they would like to share? Here are a few of mine, offset drilled darter (more weight below center), rattling flags (perpendicular and parallel).
  9. Hey everyone, I'm fairly new to plug building. I have messed around with some smaller freshwater lures and a couple of pencils. I don't really have any issues as much with the shaping and detailing of the lure, but more with the hardware. One plug that I would love to get into building is the metal lip. The only thing is that I would need lips. So my question is: Where do you guys buy your plug building materials. i.e. Metal lips, through wires, etc. I know I could put out a WTB thread on the BST forum, but I would rather buy them new directly from a supplier. I am also not sure if I have a PayPal account, and that seems to be what lots of the BST forum prefers. Any help would be appreciated. Salty
  10. 9inch bandsaw. Good working order. $65 pick up only. 11558 area.
  11. I want to start turning my own plugs. Been buying pre-turned plugs from Salty's (happy with the product just feel want to make the plug from start to finish). While looking into wood lathes, automatically get swamped with hundreds of options. Right now, I'm thinking about the Craftsman 1/2 hp 12"x16" Midi Lathe or, one from Harbor Freight seeing as I'm just starting out. Read a few bad reviews about a couple Harbor Freight lathes but a majority of reviews were positive. Anyone have any experience with any Harbor Freight lathes? Should I just spend the few extra $$ and go with craftsman?? Any help is appreciated and thanks in advance!!
  12. A few of my friends and I want to get started building plugs for our own use and enjoyment. Two of my friends are already skilled artists, they make sculptures and are great with paints. Other than this forum are there any other resources some of you plug building veterans can recommend? What tools do we need? What type of wood? Paint process? We are looking to make basic stuff like pencil poppers, poppers, and needles.
