  1. Looking to see if the squid have started running near shore yet near searsport.
  2. Hello, I'm selling my Star Ariel ex120 7' rod. It's a lightly used rod- good all around rod for pier-jetty-boat-surf- great to chunk with or swim a live bait. It has a gimbal. Uses 15-30lb test lure 3/4-2 1/2 oz- Pick up locally only- I live in Hampton Bays. Reason for selling: I don't dead stick often and I have too many rods, need room for wife's new project...I pick and choose my battles Thank you for looking- Tight lines
  3. Hello. New member here. I have been in the market for rod butt caps, but I have not found anything good yet. I have a feeling that not many people have use for these things, but maybe there's someone out there who's using them. I do surf and pier fishing, but I've been doing more pier fishing lately for the convenience (since I don't have to worry about sand getting everywhere every time I go). Piers that I go to have concrete ground, so when I leave my surf rods on the ground, they get scratched up. I just got a couple of St. Croix Mojo Surfs and the rod ends seem to scratch easier than my cheaper rods. I have found these so far: 1. Luna Sea Crush-it (All Species). I would check them out, but they are pricey and I don't want to pay for something that won't work. These are designed for fighting belts I think? 2. The Rod Room standard butt caps. There are so many sizes to choose from. I want a universal fit (The one that will stretch and fit a range of rods). I am thinking about using some tape as a temporary solution. Anyone?
  4. Hello everybody names mike i am new to the forum. Iv been surf/pier/jetti fishing on the north fork for the past four years. Last year being the best lots of stripers, and gigantic blues. The weather is getting warmer but im never sure how early i can start my season. I believe i started the second week in may last year and caught a couple cocktail blues off a jetti. But i keep hearing of fishermen going out as early as the second week in april. Any advice would be appreciated
