  2. Hello guys, I just purchased a brand new St. Croix Mojo Surf 10’6 rated 3/4-4oz from J&H. I used it the first time 2 days ago and it was rinsed down with freshwater after I used it. Today I’m looking at the guides and noticed tiny cracks at the top and bottom of the guides. I am not sure if this is normal especially for a BRAND NEW rod that I only used once.. Is this common? Has anyone else had a similar problem like this? Will it eventually fully crack? Here are some pictures. Thanks for the help in advance!!!!

  4. Hello guys, I mainly fish jetty's and the open beach. I am looking for a rod that can cast light lures such as SP minnows and poppers but can also pull in Gator blue fish and big striped bass. I am looking into the Triumph in the 10 foot rated Medium Moderate Fast 3/4-4 oz or the Mojo Surf 10'6'' Medium Moderate which is also rated 3/4-4oz. I am wondering if anyone has had any problems with these rods in the past. Any suggestions on what I should purchase? I will be using it very often and want something that will last. Thanks for the help in advance!

  7. Hello all, I mainly fish the back bay, and I throw 4nB8 80% of the time and I use 11' Mojo Surf for that application. I would like to add another rod that is able to throw 5oz or 6oz weight plus a medium size bunker chunk. I do no plan to go over 6oz weight for my application due to it being back bay. I was looking at my options as well as the search button and come up with MSS120MHF2, TSAWESS-1142XH, and tica dolphin models. Anyone have experience with these rods? I would like a rod rated best at throwing 6oz, and lob 8oz for that rare occasion. Thanks!
  8. Looking to get a new ~10ft general use surf rod. Need something for stripers / blues from jetty, dock, surf, etc... Throwing poppers, metal, sp minnows, and the occasional chunk bait. Being paired with a Penn Slammer III 6500. Looking to stay under $250. Heard good things about Lamiglas Insane, Star Paraflex Surf, Tsunami Airwave Elite, and Mojo Surf. Any feedback is appreciated.

  10. Hey guys I know the recommended surf rod length is 10'6" but I been told that for shorter guy it might be better with 9' rod. I'm 5'7" and planning to get Mojo Surf if that matter. Please provide some input, thanks.
  11. I bought this new earlier this year and used it a handful of times on piers and bridges. It was never used near sandy areas. Got the top piece replaced (warranty) when I broke it on a Cownose ray and used it twice since then. Visually, I would say 8/10 with normal signs of wear. I just gave it a close inspection and don't see anything else other than the cosmetic stuff. I am selling it for a couple of reasons - I own too many rods (I prefer shorter rods now) and my wife and I just had a newborn and I can use the extra cash. I purchased it for $220. I will ship it via UPS Ground for $125. Accepting Paypal only. Model: MSC100MMF2 Length: 10' 2-piece: 70/30 Split Weight: 12.7 oz Action: Moderate fast Power: Medium Line Range: 10 - 20 lb Lure Weight: 1 - 4 oz
  12. I've read on these forums that the mojo surf 10 and a half foot rod has a glass tips that helps give it more flex than a full graphite rod. But usually those posts are referring to the spinning version. I'm wondering if that's true and if so does it apply to the casting version as well. Does anybody have any feedback on the casting version of this rod? Thanks!
