Hi, Stumbled upon a very low priced brand new Penn Conflict II Long Cast 6000 on a well know online shopping platform and bought it in 5 seconds. I've already read alot of mixed reviews on these reels, the whole Conflict II lineup in fact. But I was looking for a light long cast reel with great line capacity and fast line retreive per crank and this seemed to be the winner considering the low price. Don't care if it's not sealed and don't care if it only has 18lbs of drag. I just hope it will lay line correctly and perform great when (if) there is a 40-50'' rooster on the end of the line next time I visit Cabo's beaches. So I'd like to hear about any of you guys experience with the reel. Things to look out for, particular care... I have other Penn gear so I know they are somehow different than Daiwa and Shimano, but hey... at the price I found them.... I just made a trip to Rhode Island last week and fished my 9' medium Tica UEHA paired with a Spheros SW5000 spooled with 20lbs braid for the first time and wow... that was a good homemade combo. I will pair this 6000 Conflict with a Penn Carnage II 10' MH that I also found on this same shopping platform for a ridiculus low price. I wish YTs Tackle Advisors wouldve talked more about his Penn Spinfisher VI Long Cast and maybe hear his opinion on this Conflict Long Cast if he tried them.

Hi, Under the box of my recently aquired Conflict II 6000LC, I see a number that seems to indicate it is Ver 2 (version 2 ?) If so, is there more than 2 versions, is it the latest? If possible, I'd like to know what was corrected between each versions. Also, is there any strengh test on the RR30 that is published or available? I bought this reel to fish all day, cast 2 to 3.5 oz surface lures and burn them back to shore. Makes sense for this reel? I would be aiming what Cabo has to offer, Roosterfish, Toro, Snook, Snappers, Sierra, etc. Thanks,

I'm on a fixed-income so buying a new reel under $500.00 is very important. I already own the Penn 7500lc. I need something that will get me another 30 yards. I fish freshwater stripes with a 2oz. bucktail 90 percent of the time. The average weight fish is about 10 to 15 pounds. I don't have much strength as I'm older now. I'm really looking at my last rod and reel setup so I need some sound advice.

Hi guys, I have a rare reel that I am trying to find out more about. It's an old school Daiwa PM 7000H. I know its a long cast reel. I have only used it once. The one time I did get good distance out of it. I have seen people selling similar reels (model numbers starting with ST or CC) on British and Euro ebay. They've sold for quite a bit and that was over 10 years ago. I'm wondering what it sell for now. Any Ideas?

This reel has sat in the cabinet all season, so I figure it's time to let her go. Mechanically she's perfect, lubed with Yamaha marine grease and corrosion x back in May. The type 5 spool has corbotex drag washers and about 150 yards of 40# sufix 832. The type 8 spool has about 200 yards of 50# jerry brown soild braid. Tiny nicks on the type 5 spool that does not scratch the line (picture 4). The silver cap on the bottom of the reel is snapped where it connects to the under side of the reel stem (picture 3). It does not affect the performance of the reel and is purely cosmetic. Black power knob replaced the dinky factory one. $155 shipped. PayPal only please. I'm located in California, so pick up is probably not an option unless you're out this way.
