Something a little different. I am selling a Point 65’ Tequila tandem modular kayak. It comes in three pieces and can be configured as a solo (2 piece) or tandem (3 piece). The modular design is great to keep in a basement or an apartment, without sacrificing any stability or safety. I’ve used it for many years and loved it but with two young kiddos, it’s gathering dust. It retails for $1999 https://a.co/d/icDI4Rr which only includes two backrests. I’m selling mine with the backrests, two paddles and an kayak anchor. All yours for $775.

Hey guys long time lurker of this forum. I've been wanting to get into kayak fishing for some time now. I'm looking for a kayak in the sub $2000 range. I'm 6'2" and I'm 255 lbs. I really don't think I can afford a pedal drive system so I'm most likely going to have to paddle for now. I'm sort of leaning towards a Feel Free 11.5 lure which has a center council that I can switch out for a pedal drive system or a powered drive in the future. Are there any other kayaks I should be looking at in this price range. Oh by the way I do have kayak experience but it's been years since I've been on one. So I'm out of the loop and I'm just looking for a little knowledge and help. I'll most likely start off by going to local lakes and pond to "wet my feet" and become comfortable kayaking before I hit the bays and harbors of the Connecticut coast.

Looking at new electronics to be used on a Hobie Revo 16...West Marine has great deals right now on the Raymarine Element 7HV and the Garmin Echo Map UHD 74sv (GT54 transducer). * The Garmin says it has "...unparalleled coverage and detail with preloaded BlueChart® g3 coastal charts featuring integrated Navionics® data"...the Raymarine has "Navionics+"...is the detail level of these charts similar to each other? What Garmin transducer seems to work best in a 2020 Hobie Revo? GT54/GT24/GT20... Any feedback re: experiences with either/both of these -- esp. the Raymarine, as that seems to be a particularly good deal -- would be greatly appreciated...the units in general, transducer compatibility/workability, minimum-sized battery needed to use the units in a kayak, other considerations.... TIA, Chris

Folks, I took a quick pass and didn't see this quirk of a topic. Apologies if I have missed something similar. I regularly fly fish from my Hobie Lynx and love it. I often cover 7-14 miles in a day chasing Stripers, Blues or Albies around New England. Recently I started wondering if I could use a Hobie sail kit to cover even more ground and have a little fun doing it. My main concern is my kit near the rear of my Yak includes a Hobie crate, a Micro Pole anchor, and usually a couple of fly rods (pic attached)-- but this is exactly where Hobie would like me to attach the sheet. Has anyone experimented with a hobie sail kit in conjunction with fishing gear? I could always go extremely light, ditching most of the extras and only taking a single pole but that only assures me I will need the exact opposite rod... Thoughts?

Hello, I joined the club of Kayak anglers a few months ago. I fish in Mauritius, inside and outside lagoon, where the weather allows us to fish all year round I got a UltraLight Rod and Shimano Stradic FL 3000 which quickly become my main Rod. It's a bit small, but so light that It's super confortable to fish with all day long. However it's small when I cross the reef. I also have a Spinfisher 3500 on a medium heavy rod. I find it super heavy. Especially comparing it to other reels on the same size (daiwa BG RR 4000, A Stradic FL4000 for exemple). And even the drag is less than the Daiwa and Shimano. If i was fishing standing on a boat maybe it'd be better, but sitting in this kayak I don't find it great. Do you find the weight of this reel justified? I'm considering selling it but I never caught anything huge on it. (Biggest yet was a small 9lbs tuna on the UL set up) Thanks!

Hey All, I purchased a 12ft Perception Pescador Pro last summer and am gearing it up for the season. I didn't have an anchor but quickly realized I need one. I primarily fish saltwater (Buzzard's Bay, Deer Island, Quincy, etc). Will be fishing all sorts of bottoms depending what I'm going for. I want to outline my thought process and get any feedback from more experienced guys. 3lb grapnel anchor Chain (necessary? was thinking 3ft should be plenty, not sure how thick it should be) Dive reel with 150ft of rope (should allow me to anchor properly in 20ft water, right?) Buoy (above handle in case need to drop anchor - could probably just use pool noodle?) Anchor trolley Quick release clip (attaching the reel to the boat/trolley) Is there anything else I'm missing? Thanks

Hi last year was really my first year kayak fishing for fluke. I got a older petal drive kayak in fall. I would like to go out for blue fish and stripers this year with it. How do you guys organize your tackle. There’s limited space that’s within reach and no room under the seat of my yak. I normally surf fish and I don’t see my surf bag being a great option.

I have been doing some striper fishing out of my kayak in the bay and rivers of NJ but I am not happy with the length of my rod handle. The handle portion seems too long to fish while siting in my kayak. What rod do you guys recommend for fishing back bay/river stripers & blues from a kayak?

Forgive me if I'm not asking this is the correct area. Now don't get jealous I just bought a Swifty 9.5 for fishing on a small local pond. Why you may ask, I need something I can pull on a cart behind a small segway. Due to the amount of wind on the pond I believe that skegs would be a huge plus since the pond catches a fair amount of wind. The swifty does not have a flat surface on the back to mount a skeg. What I am wondering if I can use 2 small skegs one on each side at an angle or am I better off to install a rudder?

Please help. I just had the most frustrating day of excellent fishing. Every time I put the anchor down it would just drag along the bottom as the current pulled me off the structure. When I finally had the anchor secure on the structure and cleeted on the yak, the current was pulling the yak under. how do you guys anchor your kayaks on structure?
