I will admit I'm a bit of a newb, but what is your opinion on if you should or not? Second I've never done it before is it as simple as crushing it with a pair of pliers?

Has anyone used the mustad hooks 32824 for there jigs? If so what are your thoughts on them, I love mustad hooks and I use them in all my jigs, but these hooks are very expensive. Just wondering what people think about them before investing them into my jigs.

Not 100% sure of the model but I'm pretty sure they're Mustad 7732 Big Game Southern and Tuna Stainless Steel Forged Short Barb Hooks. Serious hooks. I thought they were 6/0 and 7/0 but I'm not sure, could be 7/0 and 8/0 or 8/0 and 9/0 (every model of hook is sized differently...). The first pic shows a Mustad 8/0 duratin siwash for comparison, about the same size as the smaller one so I guess they're likely 8/0 and 9/0. I have 12 of the smaller size and 5 of the larger. You could use them for riggies if you're looking for something extra beefy, or maybe more likely offshore baits. A 10 pack of 8/0s sells for $44 at TD. Asking $35 shipped, PayPal.

Today a few guys were fishing the tip of the Hook......on the other side of the big signs. Lined up one by one and written summons for who knows what? They were catching until they were called over to the truck and then it was over. Be careful they're serious.

Hi All, Just wondering what techniques people use for sharping hooks - specifically point first, or last. There are numerous videos and written guides advocating one or the other. I would naturally have thought bend to point, but someone mentioned that point first creates a stronger, more durable point. What do you do? I'm particularly interested since you can't replace bucktail/fly hooks as easily as on a lure - and I mainly fish with those.

I got three big hits last night and everything I pulled up hard and started reeling to keep the line tight and second later it would go slack and I'd have lost the fish. What am I doing wrong?
