Sooooo, in 2019 or 2020 I bought a Daiwa BG3000, then I got a 5k a few months later. After a few months of reading and researching, decided to buy a Gomexus Powerknob on ebay and give it a try. I never got around to install it, as I wasn't fishing much and most of the free time was up in the woods, deer or hog hunting.
2 night ago I decided to install the Gomexus powerknob. Pull out my Daiwa BG3000, got the knob and drill. Looked up Youtube videos and some links here from SOL on the procedure. Seemed like quite straight forward, but noted it was big somewhat big, not crazy large, but definitively large. Of course this is all after full installation, drilling through the handle and red (but really blue ) loctiting all screws.
I decided to look up the size I had bought - 45mm, yep. Purchased under title "Power Knob Daiwa 5000BG"....
So now I have a BG3000 with a 45mm Gomexus knob.... for some reason I was pretty sure that the knob I bought was for the smaller reel, as the large one has a semi-decent egg knob.
I ordered a 38mm one and will see if I can swap easily, if not, will install the 38mm on a Penn Battle 4000 I also have back in Peru.
