  1. Quality rod great action. Ready to toss flies 160 shipped thanks for looking
  2. Just picked up a PBR844c for a killer deal and looking for a reel to pair. Im thinking Lexa or Tranx, but especially with the Lexa I am unfamiliar with the models and what would be the best choice, size and model. Gonna be a heavier plug boat rod so things like both size docs, big poppers, stuff in the 3 oz+ range. Thanks.
  3. So, I've been fishing this rod for a month or so now and have landed around 100 fish on it. Since I haven't seen any reviews on it, I thought I'd write up a quick review of it. I've caught everything from big blues, stripers and doormats on it without any problems. This rod is highly sensitive, strong, and light as a feather. It's has become one of my favorite rods in my arsenal. I have it paired with a vs100 that is spooled with 20lb power pro. The rod is rated for 15-30 braid and 3/16-3/4 ounce lures but it has no problem launching up to 1.25 ounce metal tins...and it casts really far. My only complaint with it is the hook keeper, when drifting, the line can get caught in it when the wind is blowing. The hook keeper is also a bit narrow and doesn't accommodate the hook of my 3/4 spro bucktails very well. I am considering taping over it or something, because I tend to put the hook on the reel handle anyway. I like to throw bucktails, small poppers, and tins with it. especially the Gothca plug. The gotcha darts very nicely with this rod. you can feel every rock and sand with the bucktail when jigging for fluke. I got a nice 30" bass with it from the paddle board and it handled it with no problems, bluefish are a blast too. I'm confident fishing this rod from the rocks or beach of course, but I tend to use it on my paddle board most of the time. If you're thinking about getting this rod, go for it, you wont be let down.

  13. Hey SOL, As the title states, I am looking for a Century Weapon Jr for the primary purpose of tog jigging (1-2 oz jigs) with secondary use as a kayak rod/sod bank wading. From what I've read, the Weapon Jr Mag Taper would be the most suitable for my intended purpose, although I haven't personally held these rods in hand so your input and suggestions would be appreciated. I would prefer the rod to be between 7'2" to 7'6". Just wanted to see if anyone had one for sale that would fit the bill before I go the custom route. Also, if interested in a trade, I have 3 NRX Inshores to offer, you can choose which one you'd like: -NRX 803S XMR -NRX 843S MR -NRX 883S MR I'm Southern NJ and would prefer a local transaction if possible. Thanks, Cy
  14. Shot in the dark here but does anyone have one they'd part with? Located in Hull MA thanks
  15. Up for sale is my Edge SUR1167-2 surf casting/conventional rod. 11'6", 15-40lb line weight, 2-8oz lure weight. Fast action. I don't see many people talking about Edge, but for those who don't know, these rods use North Fork Composite blanks and are all made in the US. Gary Loomis started the company after selling GLoomis to Shimano. This is a bare sanded graphite rod with a 70/30 split. Very very lightweight. Lure weight is printed as 2-5oz on the rod but the website states 2-8oz and I've thrown over 12oz without issues. MSRP is listed as $700 on the site but can be purchased on the site for $350 if you want to wait for their shipping... I'm asking $300, I'm located in NJ. Willing to meet up in NJ, NYC/LI, or southwest CT.

  23. Looking to sell (or trade) a practically brand new g.loomis IMX 1205-2S SUR. It has never been fished, I took it out of the bag, took the sticker off and put a reel on it, took the reel off and took it apart and hung it on the rod rack in my house and it has been sitting there since. I didn't fall in love with it so I'm having a rod built. I still have the sticker and slip showing I received it late October 2016. I'm asking $400/bo + shipping (MSRP is $545), I would prefer to sell it locally/in person (I live in about 30m south of boston and frequent southern RI to fish) but would be willing to ship. I would be willing to work out a trade for a US made VS200/VS250 as well.
  24. Looking for a TriFlex (preferably 7 foot) in great condition for fluking. Would consider GLoomis or similar rods to pair with Torium 14. Can pickup local near Philly during the week or Long Island on the weekends. Thanks in advance.
  25. WTS. I'm continuing to thin the herd. Rods are in great shape. The spinning rod was treated with cork preserve. Both rods may have been used once or twice at most. $115 for the casting rod, $100 for the spinning and $30 for the freshwater lures. All OBO Located in western queens, pickup preferred. Willing to meet in a centralized place on Long Island or NYC this weekend. I'm willing to ship the lures. CR 722 GL2 Length: 6' Power: Med-Fast Pieces: 1 Casting Our Classic “CR” (Casting Rods) Series is designed for accurate, low-trajectory casting which makes them ideal for fishing in tight quarters, around low overhanging limbs and cover. They are all 6-foot casting rods with Fuji's ECR (exposed blank - trigger reel seats) and 7-inch, straight cork rear-grips. These are the rods that started it all for G.Loomis in the bass fishing world. Anglers use them for topwater baits, spinnerbaits and jigs and worms where accuracy is more important than distance. These rods remain on the cutting edge of graphite technology today. They are no-nonsense, no frills, high performance fishing tools. PR842S GL2 Length: 7' Power: Med-Light Pieces: 1 Spinning A good, all-around GL2 spinning rod for bonefish and specks on the flats. It has a light tip with plenty of power in the lower section to handle larger species in open water situations. It's equally effective with light jigs, surface lures, shrimp or small crabs. It’s rated for 6-12 pound line and ¼ to ½ ounce lures, but fishes best with eight-pound line and 1/4 ounce lures. Freshwater anglers use it for bass and walleye, fishing minnow-type baits and small crankbaits or trolling with spinner rigs. Trout anglers like it for trolling with blades and bait for large rainbows and browns. It is a very versatile one-piece spinning rod, featuring Fuji guides and reel seat with cork rear and fore-grip.
