  1. Okay guys, I am new to the forum but love it. I grew up fishing with Mitchell 300s and 302s and now I getting back into it. I purchased a couple of 306s as well. I am doing a full cleaning on the first one and it seems you cannot get the main gear out without removing the brass "pinion" gear. Is this correct? And how do you remove these gears? Or should I not? Just trying to clean and grease behind the main gear. Photos are always extra helpful. Thanks. Florida Phil
