  1. I'm a complete newbie. So far I have only been using trout gear I had on hand. I can't jump in at the $300+ rig level and so I am shopping around for modest setups. Durability and all that is a top concern for me since I am new and will probably abuse things more than an experienced angler would. My question is this... do you really think that a $200 reel lasts 4 times longer than a $50 reel, or whatever other math and multipliers you can think of? Why not get $30-$50 reels and consider them kind of disposable?
  2. Looking over some cheap ice fishing gears on ebay. What's wrong with this picture? It's the stock manufacture photo that every single chinese sellers are using to sell this product. It's CHEAP I give you that. Here is the rod and reel photos.
  3. Have a big lot of reels for LOW prices, looking to sell them all so make me offers on multiple and I may be willing to haggle slightly, although these prices are already very low. All reels are used but fully working. All prices are shipped PayPal. Seperate would be $184 total, I'll sell them all together for $155 shipped. Casting: 1- Abu Garcia Black max, left handed, 6.4:1 ratio. $25. Spinning: 1- Six gill Man of War, size 2000, 8 bearings excellent shape. $30. 2- Daiwa Regal, size 2500, 4 bearings, another one in excellent condition, barely used. $25. 3- Bass Pro shops Tournament Pro, size 30, 7 bearings reel. Not stockdrag knob but was replaced, light use, great shape, $25. 4- Bass pro shops Enticer size 10, 10 bearings. Not stock handle. $20. 4- shimano Sonora, size 1000, barely used, very smooth. $22. 5- Abu Garcia Ike spinning reel, size 30. This reel has seen a lot of use, still working, shows some wear. $17. 6- Quantum micro spinning reel, don't know much about this reel, says 2 bearings. Would make a nice panfish reel. $10. 7- Eagle Claw Gold eagle, size 30, another reel I don't know much about but says 3 bearings. $10.

  7. Hello folks, I bought a 12 ft aluminum skiff with an 8 hp last spring intended for to do some fishing in the Cape cod bay.I didn't get out there as much as I'd like to last year which kept me from buying a few boat setups. This year I plan to fish from the boat 1-2 times a week from June to August, but that will probably end up more like once a week. I don't have any boat setups that would hold up to a season of boat fishing, so I'm wondering what you guys have for recommendations for complete boat setups for me. I'll be dishwashing this spring/summer for a little bit of cash but if possible, try to keep it under 200 if possible. Keep in mind I will only take the skiff out in calm conditions but even on a calm day the gear will get splashed. Thanks
  8. Ok, score one for us little guys. Angler Pro Shop in PA is having a sale on the Simms surf top on fleabay at $35.95 each plus shipping. But in size small only. If you wear size small clothing or have kid that surf fish. This is an great top for the price. John the shop even called me up to answer my concern and gave me a combined shipping discount. Great people in my book. Don't let this one slip by.
