  5. Hi SOL, I recently purchased the 9'6" version of the Airwave Elite and I'm looking for your recommendation on a reel for this rod. I'll be fishing this rod in the NJ surf and jetties for blues and stripers, and anticipate getting splashed occasionally. I fish hard, but always rinse my reels after fishing saltwater and spray with Ballistol every few sessions. I also break down and clean my surf reels when necessary. I pretty much fish Penn reels out of habit (and hometown loyalty), but I'm open to any suggestions. My thoughts were: Penn Spinfisher VI (4500BLS or 5500?) Penn Slammer 3 5500 Shimano Stradic FL (never fished a Shimano, so I'm not sure about their sizing compared to Penn) Daiwa BG or Saltist (I fish a BG one on my fluke rod. Love the smoothness and light weight, but not so confident in it's durability) Tsunami Evict?? Any insight would be welcome!
  6. So, I have the lower section of this rod that was given to me by a buddy that barely goes fishing. The rod is pretty much new, except the top section was broken into two pieces. I am looking for the top section in new condition if possible. I have some Bombers, Gibbs or SP Minnows to trade if it comes to that.
  7. Anyone have experience with Tsunami Airwave Surf rods? I just got the 10' MH rated 15 -30lb and 2-4oz lures. I was wondering what size of lures you guys using. I have heard that some of these rods, the blanks explode if you use too big of a lure. I got few 3oz lures, wondering if that would be ok (assuming since it is rated 2-4 oz).
  8. Greetings! I'm looking to find my Airwave TSAWSS-1002MH 2-4 oz ----a suitable partner for surfcasting in NorCal for Stripers. I'll be throwing the usual bucktails, tins, and plugs between 1-3oz. I'm thinking I want a reel in the 14-20 oz range. I don't really have the opportunity to see the reels in person to see if they balance. I want a reel that will stand up to some splashing, occasional accidental dunking, something that isn't too intensive to tear down myself afterwards I'm looking to spend between $100-200 I have a Stradic 5000FJ but it seems too light for the 10' Airwave. I decided to put that on my 9' Mojo and go bigger on the Airwave. I've been mostly looking at the Spinfisher 4500 or 5500 & the Cabo 50. I ordered a Spinfisher 6500 bailless and it seemed waay too big & heavy for my area and conditions, so I returned it. Oh ya, i'll be using 20-30# braid Any ideas appreciated. Thanks guys!
  9. Title says it all. Looking for good condition, doesn't have to be new, but not abused either. Let me know what you have, thanks.
