  1. I am a PA Woodworker for Wayward Trading Post out of the Philly region. This is my first post actually. Let me know what you all would think is cool to show and talk about. Happy to answer any questions if y'all are looking to build your own. The idea was to put an artisanal grip onto the landing net so I hand-drew a Brown Trout pattern and cut it out to make a grip. This is a Walnut, Cherry, and hickory model I call the Fat Jake.
  2. Well, this is unfortunate. It is unfortunate that it seems to be a trend that had been going on for the last 6 or 8 months. I've ordered quite a few different plugs in the last couple years or so, and I must say that almost all have been very good quality. I will say that I do not order collector plugs. But things are changing.. Over the last 6 or 8 months as I've placed orders, things seem to have just went south. The quality, right out of the box is just not consistent, it isn't a problem of the plugs taking on water, or a paint chip problem down the road, its just a plug put into the bag and shiped out without a care to an obvious hardware or layout issue. I dont want to put names on here, as it ,on its own, with respect to each builder could have been isolated. But from my perspective, with multiple builders, over a period of time, its an issue. I dont know if others are seeing the same conditions, but I sure hope things take a turn from what I am seeing.

  7. Does anybody know the lure builder/model of this plug? I found this plug on a piling, looked to have been up there a while. I put some new hooks on it to fish, but wanted to learn more about the lure. Approximately six inches long. Two belly dots could be an indicator Thank you

  10. I just picked up a few metal lip swimmers that look to be a bit older, but unused. There is no artist trademark on them, but the weights are written under the clear coat and the eyes are raised (either glass or plastic). I'm not sure if these have been refinished, but I would doubt it by the looks of them. While I'd like to fish them, I'd like to know if they'd be better off on display. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

  17. Hi guys, Hoping someone can provide some experience feedback. AYC is difficult for me to come by in my area, as it is in many other areas. Has anyone tried turning plugs with the cheap and readily available Douglas Fir that Home depot sells? If so what are some of the pros an cons. thanks, Mike

  22. Hello everyone, I'm a newbie to this forum and have read up on a few other topics similar to this one but haven't found anything dealing with sealing the bark onto the wood slab. I made this large sign for my parents cabin, it's about 44" long and nearly 3" thick. It's dry and I have wood burned the letters into the woods and used some acrylic paint on it as well. I want to seal the entire piece, front and back, and try to keep the bark on it. It will be hanging outdoors and I'm hoping it will last for many years. Is epoxy my best bet? What seems to be the best for a project like this? Thank you so much for any help you are able to offer.
  23. Lets see 'em! First of the year for me on my Bernzy inspired yellow NOT-spook. First blood for that lure. 28" ~ 29" Bring on Spring!
