Hello guys, I mainly fish jetty's and the open beach. I am looking for a rod that can cast light lures such as SP minnows and poppers but can also pull in Gator blue fish and big striped bass. I am looking into the Triumph in the 10 foot rated Medium Moderate Fast 3/4-4 oz or the Mojo Surf 10'6'' Medium Moderate which is also rated 3/4-4oz. I am wondering if anyone has had any problems with these rods in the past. Any suggestions on what I should purchase? I will be using it very often and want something that will last. Thanks for the help in advance!

Red Abu 7000 made in Sweden. Bought here some time ago. Well used and it shows but still functions and with some elbow grease most of the corrosion shouldn't be an issue. Upgraded to ceramic pawl, upgraded bearings, and upgraded drag. Mainly was my chunking reel from the surf. Loaded with 65lb PP. $75 shipped Paypal St. Croix Triumph TSWC70MHF 20-40lb. Pairs well with the Abu. Barely used and in great shape. Smooth rear grip with gimbal but. Guides and reel seat in great shape as well. $90 pick up $100 shipped Paypal. Take both for $150 shipped paypal.

Hey guys, I've been combing this forum and all over the web to decide on the appropriate rod to bring to mexico this December. Right now, I've got it narrowed it down to the Daiwa Ardito 11 foot or the St. Croix Triumph travel 9 ft. My plan is to use the rod from the Cabos beach to fish for Sierra Mackeral, Jacks...whatever swims. From what I understand, people throw 2-3 oz poppers/lures/ rangers out there. For that purpose, will the 9 ft get the baits out far enough? I just ordered a Daiwa BG5000, which is what I will be pairing the rods with. The thing holding me back from the Ardito is the heft and the small first guide ( which some people say isn't too big a problem). I know there is a 10 Ft St croix triumph, but I don't think I can get my hand on one. Will there be a worthwhile difference in the casting distance between the 9 and 11 ft? Thank you y'all. As someone with barely any surf fishing expereince, this website is a wealth of knowledge, so I appreciate your input!

Looking to sell a 7' St Croix Triumph casting rod paired with a Shimano Curado 201g7. Combo is barely used, never fished in the salt. Rod specs are 7', fast action 10-20lb 3/8-1oz. Can throw higher than this pretty comfortably though. Reel was serviced at the start of season, looks and works like new. Loaded with 30# PP. Great setup for freshwater bassing or lighter fluke and bottom fishing. Looking to get 180 for the combo. May split, 110 for reel shipped and 100 for rod. Thanks -
Hello, For my first post I would just like to say hi to all who view this thread. Also I am looking for opinions on the St. Croix Triumph Surf Rod. I am planning to get a 10' rod (3/4 - 4oz) to go with my 560 slammer (strung with 50 spiderwire stealth braid). I will use this rod 90% for lures ranging 1 ounce to 3 1/2 ounces at the most. For the 10% bait, I normally use a 2-3 oz weight and a chunk of bait (I do have a rod for bait only for my slammer, the 10% is the rare case that I either forgpt that rod or am too lazy to change it ) I will be casting off the beach or the jetty. Looking to sell a bunch of rods to try and pay off a fine I got at college, including 2 st. croixs. Want to sell st croix mojo dropshot 6'9 med light spinning rod $85 used only a few times, st croix triumph x 6'6 medium spinning rod used last fall since October $75, brand new lews speed stick 6'6 med heavy off a combo $30, and a castaway go2 6'6 med light casting rod $35. Also have a used pflueger president spinning reel 6930 size loaded with 15 lb berkley pro braid 150 yds good condition $40. Also have an Abu Garcia Verdict rod 6'6 medium baitcaster I would sell, $65. Can do cash in person or paypal if buyer pays fees. Would also consider trading something for a quality freshwater baitcaster, like a Lews. Located in Dallas PA for college right now but will be back home in North NJ and Brick area in upcoming weeks.
