Triggers have protruding teeth, small mouths, and a bit that can scalp your finger if you're careless. I found some heavy wire Chesterton hooks in my cellar that have had no use since Long Island flounder became too scare to justify attention. The wire is thick enough so that no trigger should be able to snap it, and the long shank is some decent finger protection. Is there a better hook type for triggerfish?

Assuming that September's accelerating weather doesn't blow them all out to sea quickly, what's an optimal hook for triggers? A heavy-wire Chesterton comes to mind, but I'd like to know.

Is it always a place like Texas? This picture is from a popular social media page. Just one of many like this where guys are taking obscene numbers of fish. I know we have had our discussions about keeping striped bass but never this many fish. Like I said, this is just one of many.
