I need help for my next rod , I currently use a Daiwa coastal 10”MFA . I only fish in dam and spillway area That got strippers and hybrids. The coastal is a little bit heavy for me and for some reason it doesn’t cast as far as I wanted to be( it’s a big spill way). So I’m in the market for a new rod, I’m torn between the Suzuki , D.N.A. and the dark matter OB. I mainly throw 1/2 oz -1 oz bucks and 1-2 oz shadhead with a swim bait so 1/2 0z to 2oz would be my Sweet spot , casting distance is a must! I like the Suzuki because it fits my budget pretty well , the D.N.A. price is kinda out of my price range and the OB is very light which I like a lot. Going to pair with with a stradic 4000FL I want this to be a light set up. The Daiwa is getting a littleheavy for me . THANKS in advance

Anyone have or cast both? Ive built a few IP965 rods and enjoy them. How does the BH blank compare? Action ? Flex? What's the sweet spot? What does a blank weigh? Thanks.

Hi all, My first post on the forum. I am from the UK and I target the European Sea Bass, or just plain Bass as we call them here. A few anglers here target them here from surf beaches with lures. Would anyone here be able to describe the differences between the two rods I mention in the title please? What is the sweet spot for both? How much farther will they 10' cast if at all (I know, lots of variables here)? Action faster on the 9'6? Does one perform different tasks, i.e. is one better with a hard plastic lure (minnow) or metal or heavy soft plastic How's are they both for Buck tailing (something I want to try over here) I want to get as much reach (casting) as I can, but be able to throw soft plastics with jig heads up to 60g, as well as metals into the surf, to reach structure (bars, rips holes etc.). I see a lot of videos that Kil put up are from the boat, are there any where people are using these rods in full surf conditions? I would love to know your thoughts, Any help would be great! All the best Kark

Anybody want to get rid of one? Must be in excellent condition. They are out of stock everywhere. I might have a few fishing or firearm things to trade as well + or - cash. I should probably add shipping will be in order. Ca, 95560

I need to build a new snook rod as I sold my current one on a whim through Craig’s List this evening. The one I sold was a Batson Rainshadow SW 1087 (rated 3/4 to 4 oz, 15#~25# line) set up with KR Fuji guides. I liked it very much, but it seemed a little to stiff for the 3/4 to 1-1/2 oz buck tails and lures I was using it for. I sold it to a guy who is taking it to Oregon to bait fish for salmon, so it found a good home. If I were to build that rod again, I would reverse the spine so that the natural curve goes up (spinning set up) to soften it a wee bit on the cast and maybe make the rod more stable on the cast (comments appreciated). Anyway, I am shopping for blanks and am looking at stuff rated 1/2~2 ounces for this new build. I figure I should be able to throw 3/4 oz to 1-1/2 oz buck tails and SP minnows well and still be able to throw my smaller 5/8 oz plugs so it would be more versatile. The heaviest lure I own is 2-1/8 oz and it only comes out occasionally if at all. The specific application is shore fishing in a few inlets on the west coast of Florida for snook (slot size is 28” to 34”) using mostly 1 oz Flare Hawks (a type of bucktail) and lures around 1 oz plus or minus a little. The water is moving, but not to fast. I would really like to stay under $150 for the blank. I have three in mind and was hopeful that some of you ladies and gentlemen could comment on their suitability for the task at hand or recommend something I might have overlooked. Lamiglass 1018 L, 9’ (1/2~2-1/2 oz) Black Hole Suzuki, 10’ (1/2~2 oz) (obligatory inclusion on this forum as of late) Batson Rainshadow SU1264F. 10.5’ (1/2~2 oz) I will probably be building them with a Fuji KR setup and pairing it with a Daiwa BG 4000 and/or a Stradic 4000. It doesn’t matter to me if it s one or two piece. Any and all comments are appreciated.

Can anyone compare and contrast any of the three following rods? Lamiglass 1018 L, 9’ (1/2~2-1/2 oz) Black Hole Suzuki, 10’ (1/2~2 oz) Batson Rainshadow SU1264F. 10.5’ (1/2~2 oz) The specific application is shore fishing in a few inlets on the west coast of Florida for snook (slot size is 28” to 34”) using mostly 1 oz Flare Hawks (a type of bucktail) and lures around 1 oz plus or minus a little. I sold the Suzuki 250's when the boat was re-powerd but still have these spare props left. The props are in overall good shape but two of them have dings on the tips. Sizes are two 3x16x18 5R and one 3x16x17L. There is also a terminals kit left over with some parts missing. I'm thinking 200.00ea for the props+ shipping OBO. If intrested let me know and we can work something out. These props are in Alaska.
