Hello all Just wanted to get a sense of what you all think would be better as an "all purpose wader boot bottom--"felt" or "rubber lug"." I have some waders from the trout fishing days (Simms) which are the stocking foot type with felt bottoms wading boots (separate boots). I haven't used them in years, as I've been mostly a saltwater boat fisherman, but I remember them being a pain in the ass to get on and stones getting down inside them. Thus, I've been thinking of getting some plain old "boot foot" waders for easy on and off, as well as good sealing from stones/sand getting in my boot. I'll be using the boot foot waders for surf fishing (sand beaches, gravel beaches, jettys, around light house areas standing on boulders...etc.--all purpose) with "light wading" here and there but NOT deep at all....maybe knee to thigh deep (max). Thinking rubber lug bottoms would be "lighter/easier/nimble" to walk around in, but may not have the traction of felt. What do you guys prefer and suggest?? Thanks in advance for any opinions. Rob

Looking to replace the worn out screw in studs out of my wading boots...I need some recommendations. The original studs looked like a typical hex head sheet metal screw with one difference. The hex head was concave. They were mild steel so a little soft. Wasn't too happy with them they didnt give me the best grip when new. I use them for fishing off jetties, rocks etc. Anyone have any recommendations?
