About Me:

Interests (Hobbies, favorite activities, etc.):

What I do for a living:

  1. Looking to sell my st croix avid inshore vis 80mf $145 picked up central CT (possibly able to meetup at any of the fish shows in CT or ri in the near future) Rod is originally 8' medium power fast action rated from 3/8-3/4 This rod came in directly from St croix with 3 inches broken off the tip, They sent another along as a replacement and let me keep this one so I cleaned it up shortened it another inch to make the layout work ,put a new tip on it and fished it with no issues for two seasons Rod is currently 7'8 and in decent shape Great all around inshore rod, but a custom I've built has taken it's place in the rotation of rods I actually use so it's time to pass it on to someone else Eyelets are all in good shape, with some minor scuffs as any rod that's caught fish have Cork is in good shape Tip has been replaced and layout still works well Reel seat is functional but the locking nut and hood have separated and I haven't bothered to try to fix it
  2. As the title says I am looking to buy a newer model St croix legend surf 10'6 rated 3/4 to 4oz Thanks
  3. I have for sale a St Croix Imperial Switch Rod 11' 7 weight rod in good condition. It comes with original rod case and two tips, the original tip broke off and I repaired it, about an inch short. Blank is in good condition, the reel seat has wear from reel; see photos. This was my first Switch/Spey rod and recent purchases require me to sell to fund newer equipment. This is a great switch or surf rod. $150 OBO plus shipping. If you are looking for a complete set up with reel and line I may be able to set you for an additional cost. Thanks.
  4. Used St Croix Avid Inshore VIS70MLF 7’ Medium Light Fast Spinning Rod. Rod is in great condition, no damage with minimal normal use wear. $180 shipped
  5. Selling lightly used mojo inshore. Used twice and didn’t like the feeling. Looking 180 shipped buyer pays PayPal fee
  6. Selling 3 rods. I’d really prefer pick up. I’m in central CT right off 95. Might be willing to ship but we’ll need to estimate that and buyer pays shipping. My guess is we’re looking at a min of $30. PayPal or cash only. rod 1 - St Croix Premier 7’, 2 piece UL. Great trout rod for bouncing bait, eggs, power worms w split shots or under a float. Rod is probably 10 years old and used maybe 5 times. Bought for my dad who used it on opening day for a few years before he passed. Been in my basement for around 5 years. Only selling because I already own and use the exact same rod. Retail $160. Asking $110. rod 2 - Lamiglas Hammer Walleye rod. Bought last year on a whim. Never used. Retail $80. Asking $50 rod 3 - G Loomis G2 Trout rod. 5’ UL. I used this 2 or 3 times in a small local stream and it’s a great rod but I enjoy fishing a longer rod. Retail is $200. Asking $150. all rods are in great shape with no signs of wear.
  7. Selling two new (w/ tags) St. Croix spinning rods. St. Croix Legend Tournament 6’8” Medium Power / Extra Fast Action (TBS68MXF) Spinning Rod $215 St. Croix Premier 6’ Medium Power / Fast Action (PS60MF) Spinning Rod $115 Prices include shipping. Thanks
  8. I just got a VSX150 on the forum. As luck would have it, I broke my 10' Airwave the first time I used it. Thankfully I bought insurance on it at Dicks when I purchased it. Now I have a nice little gift card to put towards a new rod. I MOSTLY fish NJ beaches but will make it to LI 1-3 times per year and up to MA 1-2 times per year. The vast majority of my time will be spent throwing bucktails, artificials and plugging (and in the summer put it on a 7'6" MHF St Croix Mojo Inshore for fluke and smaller species). Now I don't need an all arounder that can try to do Montauk and the Canal, but something I can use on NJ beaches + jetties, but can also be used if I visit family "Out East" would be ideal. As I just learned through experience, a good warranty matters, but I can also get 2-3 rods before I pay for 1 St. Croix legend. I'm looking at a 9' Grumpy's Sandstorm (3/4-3oz)... I held it at the show last year and was impressed. I also like the 2021 9' St. Croix Triumph (1/2-2.5oz) and the 2020 St. Croix Avid Surf 9' (1-4oz). QUESTION: Grumpys describes the Sandstorm as designed for NJ. What does the perfect NJ Surf Rod that mean to you and how do you fish in NJ? What rod/reel combination do you use in NJ (when not deep in the 24 hour soak #GarbageMan). What rod pairs best with this reel and allows me to do the most. For years I've almost exclusively fished IBSP (fishing with the family) but this year and in the future, I want to see more of what NJ has to offer when fishing saltwater from shore, jetty or maybe even pier. Let's see where this goes (let's pretend there's no budget, then work our way back to reality when we get some consensus). Thank you, tight lines, and happy Sunday!
  9. Looking to sell a 1 piece 7 foot *Medium*** St Croix Triumph, older model. $65 OBO via paypal. Ok condition but Its seen some use. In speaking to the post office today I will need to up shipping from $10 to $20**** (originally mis listed as MH)

Tsunami Trophy Series jigging 6’6” casting model - rated to 4.5 but can easily take 10oz of lead. Used about 6 times. I just can’t get used to conventional so sticking with spinning gear on the boat. Retail is around $120. Asking $75 Tsunami conventional 7’- rated to 4 but again, can take 10 oz of lead. Used this one maybe 3 times. I think retail is around $75. Asking $50 Dark Matter 7’ spinning rod - rated 1-4. Used a couple times but I have too many rods in this range. On sale right now for $129 at J and H. Asking $85 St Croix mojo inshore 7’6” older model - rated 3/4-2oz (but can throw more - great rod for the doc). Rod is in great shape but does have 2 scratches just above the handle. See pics.
