Firstly my apologies to admin for originally posting in perhaps the wrong section of this forum. My story is that i started using a Battle 2 3000 with spiderwire on my 7' Ugly Stik Elite last week. Filled spool to approx 80% capacity. Terribly bothered with wind knots. Probably lost approx 30 metres line already. Line lay on spool looked fine so did not bother with either of spare washers in box. Seems to be spilling line over lip of spool as i retrieve which results in a right 'birds nest' on next cast. I do not close bail arm manually as I prefer to do this by hitting my distance and closing bail by turning handle. Would you advise trying a different brand of braid or perhaps changing or adding one or both of the spare washers? I have used quite a few brands of reel in my time and never had this issue! I love the smooth action of my Penn Battle 2 but I am really at my wits end! Thanks in advance. Bryan.

Is it just me or does this line have abrasion issues? The 10 and 20 lb test seem to be holding up ok but I've used several spools of the 30 lb and I'm getting line fray from just normal use. Def frays more than spiderwire moss green or powerpro. Anyone else have issues with this line? I have a few spools of 30 lb left but I'm skeptical...

I made a deal on a vs200 and should be getting it within the next few days. I am going to put it on my 10'6" St Croix Mojo MM that I picked last week. I usually use 50lb braided spiderwire or powerpro with 20-25lb mono backing. I have my penn battle and vs250 both setup like that. My question is, should I put less then 50lb braid or is that okay for the vs200? Im primarily using it to fish for Stripers and Blues in Montauk, Riis park and the surf along jersey and long island. I will be fishing around rocks and etc, so I will use a leader that I normally use in the surf. Would I be better off using a lower pound test braid to increase casting distance or should I stick with around 300yards of 50lb???

So I know there are guys who do it differently. Personally I backup my reel less then half a spool with around 20# mono before putting on the 50# powerpro or spiderwire braid to my VS250 and or Penn Battle. I was just wondering what other people do because sometimes idk how much mono I should put on the reel to prior to the braid. Its rare that when fighting a fish it comes down to the knot between the mono and braid when im fishing but it happens ocasionally with a big fish that is running out. I know guys who dont back the reels at all but I havent tried that. Opinions please ?!?!

I've had a terrible experience with this so far. Lost a few of my favorite plugs due to line breaking. Has anyone else had any problems with this particular product, or Spiderwire in general? Using 20lb/300yrd - Stealth Hi-Vis Yellow. Throwing .5-1oz
