  1. Have a minty Shimano Spheros SW 3000 HG, maybe used on one short session. Comes with box and manual and shims etc. Spooled with XL smooth casting 10lb. 99.00 Includes USPS Priority Mail Shipping. PayPal only. Thanks for looking, Pat
  2. I bought a JDM Spheros size 8000 several years ago because of the attractive price on Amazon. Later I read on Alan Hawk’s review page of how the JDM reel has inferior gears and a few other things compared to the model on sale in America. I’ve used the reel some, mostly for Togging on the jetty and haven’t had any issues. I have two questions: 1) to those that have the JDM model and have fished it hard have you had any issues? 2) have any of you with the JDM model done any upgrades to it like using the better gears from the USA market model? thanks.
  3. New or used with pics please. NOT the JDM version. Thanks
  4. Looking for a Saragosa/Spheros/TWP handle, or, just this knob. If you've got a spare beat handle or can get the knob off a reel that's been trashed, would be golden and extremely grateful. Condition is secondary. Edit* selected a better picture.
  5. Morning, It's been awhile since I've been on here and had to post. Had a very contentious divorce battle for almost 3 years. I was just finally able to get my fishing equipment back but unfortunately the X did not return my reels. I'm looking to replace them but can't really afford full retail. Looking to buy a Shimano Stella 10K or 14k. 2008 model 10K welcome. Also, a Shimano sphero's 10K or similar goosa. Just getting back on my feet. Anybody with anything laying around let me know I'll put it to a good home.
  6. Exterior is scratched and scuffed. Spool is in good shape though. Mechanically smooth. Filled with 15lbPP. $50 shipped. Paypal
  7. Hey everyone, Looking to get some feedback on the Penn Slammer III vs Shimano Spheros or Stradic. I would like to use either reel with a 7'6" (M or MH) rod for inshore stripers or albie fishing, but was indecisive between the two as I have heard great things on both. I am also looking to have 200 yards or braid or more on either, which I believe these models will allow. As for reel size for this set up, I am thinking the following, but let me know if I am off my rocker if you feel as if the reel is too big or small for the setup. All three reels are within my price range, so no need to base my decision off of that. My may concern is which will hold up to the saltwater best? Penn Slammer III 4500 Shimano Spheros SP5000SW Shimano Stradic STC5000XGFK Thanks in advance for your input! Chris
  8. Shimano Spheros SW10000 NIB. Purchased as a backup, put some used line on it (Fireline Original 30lb, flipped so unused portion is on the outside), and never used it. Only slightly bigger than a 6000/8000 size. $140 shipped PP Shimano Symetre 1000FL NIB. Found a good deal on a Stradic and never used this. $80 shipped PP Can post pics if anyone is interested.
  9. Hello, I would like to sell a Shimano Spheros 6000 SW (this is not the Japanese Domestic version). This was my backup reel, and only used once. Very meticulously maintained, looks brand new. I cannot find any scratches on it. 10/10. Comes with box, and also replacement bearings. Spooled with over 200 yards of 20lb Sufix 832 with Mono backing. $170 shipped
  10. Looking for a reel for a friend of mine who is just getting into the surf casting game. Looking for a Penn Slammer 4500 or 5500, Saragosa 5000SW, Spheros 5000SW, or anything similar. Good to great condition. What's out there?
  11. Hi, looking to buy a used 5-6k shimano reel. Thanks!
  12. I am looking into a new surf rod and reel. I am overthinking the process, which I enjoy... and would love the help! I would like a reel that can get somewhat wet/sandy without breaking. Occasional dunk/wave I am planning on using the rod on the east coast- surf fishing strippers. West coast for Corbina and Halibut. Costa Rica/Cabo for Roosters. Lures- poppers, spoons, bucktails. - all around 3/4 - 2+ ounces Most often in the 1-2 oz range Looking for something that can travel easily, along with my golf club travel bag, but I am not overly interested in a 4 piece rod. I was thinking of a 50/50 split on a 8 foot rod, but I am not sure how the feel is compared to a one-piece or 70/30 split... (70/30 seems counterproductive, as I would still have too long of a rod for travel). Current idea is: St Croix Legend 8 foot two piece Shimano Spheros SP6000SW 30LB braid Any thoughts on this setup? Any better suggestions? what am I missing?
  13. Looking to sell a Shimano Spheros 6000SW. Reel is new, with box. Only opened during initial purchase and again to take pics for the WTS thread. Asking $145 shipped, PayPal or MO. Thanks for looking.
  14. For sale is a pair of Shimano Spheros 4000FB spinning reels. As can be seen in the pictures these reels have been well taken care of and work beautifully. Both reels come with their original box, paperwork and the additional package of drag washers (unused). These reels feature an aluminum frame, graphite side plate, anti-reverse, aluminum spool, waterproof drag, propulsion line management system, and shielded A-RB bearings. Both reels are spooled with 150 yards of Power Pro Super 8 Slick 15lb aqua green braid. Weighing in at just 12.3 ounces, these reels are an excellent match for any inshore rod. I've got them boxed and ready to ship. Asking $160 for the pair including shipping. Paypal please and thanks for considering these fine reels.

  16. Looking for a spare spool for my shimano spheros 5000sw- does anyone have one to sell me or know where I can find one? I have searched online without any luck.
  17. WTB Spare Spool Shimano Spheros 8000 SW Any condition that is usable but zero or very minimal spool lip rash. Please post pics and prices shipped to 32082
  18. Excellent condition St Croix Avid Surf, AVSS80MMF 8' 3/4-3oz. Hardly a mark on it, maybe minor wear on cork tape and butt cap. Light cracks in flex coat around guides, pretty typical. Asking $200 Paired with a Shimano Stradic 5000FI. The reel was recently serviced by Shimano, has a brand new handle/crank and some new gears/bearings. Very smooth, just has some wear marks on the body. Asking $120, or will sell with the Avid for $300. Line would cost additional (20lb sufix 832), plan on removing it. Great condition St Croix Tidemaster TIS70HF 7' 3/4-2oz. Some light marks here and there, a little wear on the cork. Love the rod but I just got the 8' version so this one has to go. Asking $120 Paired with a Shimano Spheros 5000FA. Reel is in great shape, very smooth, some marks here and there. A little corrosion on the spool (under where the line goes, the lip is flawless - seems to be common on these reels). Asking $60 or take the combo for $170. Also have a Shimano Spheros 4000FA, almost like new. Hardly a mark on it, don't think it has seen the salt. Got it as a backup but for some reason the handle arm is loose, not sure why. Fit a stainless washer in there to tighten it up, shouldn't affect performance. Hard size to find. Asking $60. I am located in southeastern CT, occasionally go up to the northshore of MA. If there isn't any interest in the combos I am willing to ship the reels separately (buyer covers shipping), prefer not to ship the rods.
  19. WTB Shimano Spheros SW 2014 or newer Any Size in Good condition Please post your pics and prices including shipping below can pay with PP and will pay 3% fees
  20. For sale are three of the older model Shimano Spheros. Two 5000FA and a 6000FA. All reels are great mechanically, but have minor cosmetic wear mostly on the gold trim pieces. There is also a little corrosion on the spools, which seems to be a common problem with these. There are no rough edges jutting out that could affect the line though. The 6000FA was used a bit more and is slightly rougher. They are solid reels, built better than the current $100 class reels offered today. They weigh around 20oz so they pair well with a 9-10' surf rod. Would trade for any of them for a 4000FA/FB. PayPal preferred. 5000FA #1 - smoothest of the three, $60 shipped 5000FA #2 - comes with 30?lb power pro, $55 shipped 6000FA - $50 shipped
  21. Looking to buy two Shimano Spheros 4000 FA or FB spinning reels. Also have two Spheros 5000FA and a 6000FA I'd be willing to trade.
